Veritas Aequitas (truth and justice) are appropriate Latin terms to describe the movement of Em and Nick to bring the truth about Meridian to light and to free the family members of the refugee children in the forest outside of Schönberg. Young Fariq is the ringleader who assists Em and Nick. Fariq's father was a children's eye doctor, who died in the Syrian war. But his mother is one of the captives of Meridian.
In a critical moment of this episode, Em and Nick wonder which one of the FBI agents they can trust at this point. Their conclusion: Derek Crown. In placing a phone call to Crown, they set in motion the forces of Interpol to arrive at the compound where the civilian prisoners are being held by Meridian.
Crown has now boiled down the lists, and the evidence points to Deputy Director Foster Webb as the one FBI agent present at both times when the files were forwarded to Dawkins and when SA Gifty Thompson fielded the message from Nick. But Gunnarsen typically insists that they delay until they have something more "concrete" on Webb.
But Em and Nick cannot wait the twelve hours for the cavalry to arrive. So, assisted by the children, they make a daring attempt to enter the compound and disrupt the timetable of the diabolical Elliott ("Jericho") to kill all of the prisoners.
In the meantime, Cal has entered the compound disguised as one of the Meridian thugs. At one point, he is about to murder Armstrong when there is an explosion and Armstrong escapes. Em has entered the main headquarters of Elliott. She has a gun pointed at him at the precise moment when Cal arrives. With a moment's distraction, a guard enters, surprises Em, and knocks her to the ground!
Meanwhile, back on the ranch: Dr. Jack has arrived for a visit to the farmhouse to keep company with Gramps and Flynn. But he is followed by Dawkins, who surprises Gramps and knocks Dr. Jack cold. Little Flynn is hiding in a closet.
