Penguins "Emperor" or "Aptenodytes Forsteri" live in a colony in Adelie Land within a rockery. After the mating season, as soon as the egg is laid, the father incubates the single egg so carefully that he loses his appetite and abandons the joys of fishing to his wife. Once out of their shell, the young are taken in charge by the mothers who gather them in nurseries, while the males go up north, near the sea, in search of food. On his return, the male goes in search of his female and his chick. In spring, in November, the young Emperors join the rockery. When the ice melts in January, on blocks of drifting ice, they come up in groups to the north in a perilous journey.
