Nineteen minutes of the magical world of famous surgeon and visionary Ivo Pitanguy. Ivo transformed everything he touched into pure beauty, including numerous politicians, celebrities and superstars.

This film gave me an intimate look at Pitanguy's world class art collection, his inimitable life style, and his gorgeous private island filled with monkeys, toucans, macaws and even a friendly emu.

I was particularly fascinated by Ivo's personal philosophy and the simple life lessons he shared on camera. This short film is a non-stop feast for the eyes, a bird's-eye-view of an exotic and extraordinary world.

I really adored this short film!

Cybela Clare directed and produced this short but sweet docu-interview on Ivo Pitanguy.

Shot before Pitanguy's passing in August 2016; an older, wiser, more reflective Pitanguy is captured sharing his philosophies & experiences in life and love for nature.

The short film does not focus on Pitanguy's surgical exploits or medical breakthroughs per se but focuses on Pitanguy as a son, a husband, a parent, a friend, an educator, an ambassador of beauty and as a human being. Footage of wildlife and flora/fauna at Pitanguy's private island provided an interesting finish to the film.

I had the pleasure of working with the great Professor Pitanguy as a resident in his plastic surgery training program from 2012 until his demise in 2016.

His legacy will outlive his life! A must watch for aspiring philosopher-surgeons and even the public interested in plastic surger.

Modern plastic surgery evolved out of the horrors of the first World war and later WWII with the grandfather of reconstructive plastic surgery ,Dr McAdoe restoring burned Battle of Britain pilots. Dr McAdoe mentored young Ivo Pitanguy, the father of modern plastic surgery who originally trained to reconstruct damaged tissue and gradually realized the value of cosmetic reconstruction. Cybela's personal relationship allows us to enter the rarefied world of genius. Pitanguy's life and philosophy is an inspiration that reflects the highest level of human achievement. Pitanguy reviews his life with details of platforms of endeavor that illuminate various activities that create life fulfillment. His acknowledgement of man's relationship with the animal world is a potent revelation. It is a rare privilege to be invited into the intimate realm of a contemporary philosopher who is also a man of action.
