Ghost Story
terrazygotes-3088112 May 2023
This was an interesting story, which increased in tension and suspense, as it moved along. An eerie set, a dilapidated house on a piece of land cut off from the mainland by flooding, due to a storm. A man searching for someone or something explores abandoned houses in Japan. In one he finds a strange woman or at least the remains of a woman sitting in a chair, at a table. She doesn't move and he doesn't know what to make of her. A young woman invites him to a meeting, where he can "pitch" his proposal to get investors to finance him to study the phenominon, which he has discovered. A motley group joins him in this effort and he sells interested parties tours of the house, with the "sitting woman", to get more research money. The movie reveals the "sitting woman" begins to influence the very thoughts of the group and the visitors. The film seems headed in an interesting direction; however, I found that it sort of falls apart in the hurried ending, which I really didn't comprehend.

Awful

This movie was literally so awful. I have no idea how it has a 5 rating, which really needs to be changed because this movie deserves barely a 2. The acting was absoltuley horrific. I don't even know how this made it to movie status, and got put out. Just so cringy and awful, hard to watch. The only thing decent, is the idea for the plot, and the monster was genuinely creepy looking. The pace for the story in the beginning was decent, and then they just rushed everything at the end. Otherwise, seriously, do not waste your time. I just cannot go on enough about how bad the acting, and pretty much the whole movie was.

Jumbled mess

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting idea. Bad acting. Story was everywhere and makes no sense. Guy came to Japan looking for his sister, who it turns out was murdered. He starts doing paranormal research around Japan, and it told about this house on an island where a ghost (demon)? Is sitting at a table. He finds a woman who watches his YouTube channel and convinces her fiancé to invest in it. It's starts out interesting. They go to the island and see the ghost , then bring others along. Meanwhile, They do the stupidest stuff. Leave people alone with the ghost, put up glass, but allow people behind the glass to be in the room with the ghost. Go at night to the island to see the ghost. Get attacked, leave the island, go back to the island. Get attacked outside. Run back inside of the house instead of getting to the boat and leaving. So now the ghost has possessed people, and they tell the ghost that the people are her kids??

Tons of non- Japanese people in Japan. The ghost guy says he's Canadian, but has a southern U. S. accent. Makes no sense. Just a big old mess.
