The team re-investigates the 1962 death of Nancy Patterson, a 27-year-old secretary whose death was ruled a suicide, after her granddaughter proves the suicide note does not match her handwriting. Nancy was generally considered paranoid shortly before her death, as her daughter and husband Daniel maintain. The team looks into the conflicted family and the officer who filed the case, but are shocked discovering literature professor Patterson's dark secret.
