AMC is doubling down on its streaming service AMC+.
The network on Monday announced that The Walking Dead Season 10 will resume one week earlier than planned, but only for those who pay for the streaming service.
That's right:
You can watch The Walking Season 10 Episode 17 on Sunday, February 21 – one week ahead of its linear premiere on Sunday, February 28 at 9:00 p.m. Et/Pt on AMC.
All subsequent episodes will debut early on the premium streaming bundle, every Thursday prior to the episodes’ linear premiere on Sundays.
News of the early premiere is not surprising: New episodes have been launching days ahead of their traditional cable TV broadcast for a while now, but a whole week is something else.
Last on The Walking Dead, we witnessed the fall of Alpha (Samantha Morton) and the end of the Whisperers War.
The Kingdom had fallen, Hilltop was virtually destroyed and Alexandria abandoned to prepare for final battle.

We are just weeks away from the return of The Walking Dead Season 10.
AMC has dropped the trailer for the six bonus episodes, and we have a lot of questions.
We'll start with Maggie because these will be her first episodes back as a series regular.
It's clear from the trailer that Negan being free is a lot for her to process.
"He asked how his daddy died," Maggie tells Daryl in the trailer of Hershel.
"I told him a bad man killed him. And he wanted to know if that man got what he deserved."
This will undoubtedly make things complicated, considering Negan just saved everyone from The Whisperers.
It's hard to imagine Maggie being able to co-exist in an environment with him.
Speaking of Negan, the trailer shows a leather jacket and red scarf clad Negan tapping on the floor with his trusty bat Lucille while demanding, "Little pig,...

It will be a true family affair on the set of The Walking Dead. Hilarie Burton is joining her real-life husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the show, portraying his character Negan’s wife Lucille in a recurring role.
“Been pretty hard to keep this a secret,” Burton tweeted Tuesday. “But I love working with @JDMorgan. I love watching him become #Negan and take on that swagger. And I love the @TheWalkingDead family. They’ve been a part of our family for ages and I’m so grateful for their kindness.”
In Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comics, Negan was married to Lucille before the events of the zombie apocalypse. She was diagnosed with cancer, and Negan, whom Lucille was aware had been having an affair, broke off the relationship to spend as much time with his wife in her final days as possible. “The Walking Dead” has chosen the actor who will take a swing at playing Lucille.
The show has cast Hilarie Burton in the guest starring role of Negan’s late wife. As such, she will be joining her real-life husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan who of course plays Negan. Burton will appear in bonus episodes adding on to the events of season 10, the finale of which was delayed by the pandemic.
News of Burton’s casting comes less than a month after AMC announced its historic zombie series will end after season 11. The final season will air over two years on the network, beginning in late 2021, and consist of 24 episodes in total.
Burton and Morgan expanded their relationship with AMC earlier this year by hosting the half-hour video chat series “Friday Night In with The Morgans.” The weekly show was shot from their farm in upstate New York.

Did somebody say “Here’s Negan”? If so, The Walking Dead certainly heard you and appears to be setting up season 10’s six extra episodes to cover an important side arc from the comic series. As first reported by Comicbook.com and confirmed by the actress herself. The Walking Dead season 10 has cast Hilarie Burton as Negan’s dearly departed wife Lucille.

Think of it as Sunday night in with the Morgans.

As such, Burton will play opposite real-life husband Jeffrey Morgan, with whom she headlined the springtime AMC talk show Friday Night in With the Morgans.

“The Walking Dead” franchise is getting another free outlet: AMC Networks inked a deal with Amazon’s IMDb TV to add six channels to its “live” lineup on the free, ad-supported streaming service.
Two AMC channels already have launched on IMDb TV: The Walking Dead Universe Experience — which includes select past episodes of the original zombie show and its spinoffs — and AMC: Presents. In the next few months, IMDb TV will add four additional channels from the basic cabler to the “watch live” linear selection: Absolute Reality by We tv, Rush by AMC, IFC Films Picks, and Slightly Off by IFC.
The Walking Dead Universe Experience channel is exclusive to IMDb TV (with some content not available anywhere else), but the others are not. Earlier this year, the programmer signed a similar deal for “The Walking Dead” and other shows with ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV free-streaming linear service.

The Walking Dead is one of television’s most successful shows, but it didn’t achieve that status by scaring people with zombies or having the absolute best stories to tell every week. It achieved it through years of meaningful character interactions and important dialogue that has given us reasons to care about the people who inhabit the increasingly dangerous world within the series.
Longtime main character Rick Grimes helped set the stage for this kind of storytelling early on in the very first season with Andrew Lincoln’s exceptional acting and how Rick formed emotional bonds to the groups of people he encountered during the early moments of the show. This dedication to realistic relationships really clicked with audiences and continued to be the series’ best feature, clearly leading to the showrunners focusing heavily on character building and interpersonal drama as opposed to relying so strongly on the overarching threat of zombies.

Negan’s brutal executions of both Abraham and Glenn in The Walking Dead‘s infamous season 7 opener marked the most devastating moments in the series’ entire history, but one of the former Savior leader’s victims still doesn’t hold a grudge. Having said that, he’d definitely like to see Negan “put through the wringer.”
Michael Cudlitz might have had his character Abraham Ford killed off all those years ago, but he’s still working as a director on the show. He helmed one episode of season 9 and two in season 10 – episode 4 “Silence the Whisperers” and episode 7 “Open Your Eyes.” Cudlitz chatted with Negan himself, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and his wife Hilarie Burton Morgan on their show Friday Night In With The Morgans and was asked whether he’d like to give Negan a tough time in another directorial effort as revenge. The actor/director revealed that the answer is both yes and no.

The show, hosted by the Morgans from their farm in upstate New York, features conversations about how people are getting through the pandemic and life in quarantine.
This week’s guests will include Paul Rudd and his wife, Julie Rudd, Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos and John Traver, the manager of the local candy store, Samuel’s Sweet Shop. The new episode premieres Friday, May 8 at 10 Pm Et/9c on AMC.
In each episode, with self-shot pieces from the couple themselves, the Morgans talk about they’re handling life in quarantine, helping communities, finding joy and even humor in these unprecedented times while in isolation — all done via video chat.
