Sitting down with Bernard Schwartz (Tony Curtis) 1925-2010
Petey-1030 September 2010
The Hollywood icon Tony Curtis sits down on the couch of the psychologist Pamela Stephenson. In Shrink Rap he talks about his tough childhood, his career, marriages, his affair with Marilyn Monroe and his drug and alcohol problem.Sadly Tony Curtis, who was born Bernard Schwartz, died yesterday of a cardiac arrest at the age of 85.He had a remarkable life and career in the movie business. In this episode from 2008 this Jewish kid from New York talks about his life and shows us all his flaws. It is very touching when he talks about his younger brother Julius, who was killed in a road accident. It happened shortly before Tony's bar mitzvah, and he had to go and identify the body. What does something like that do to a child? You can see talking about the events of his past really helped Tony.At least I hope it did.Now there is no more Tony Curtis, and the world is a little sadder place to live.We can just look back on the life and the movies of the great Tony Curtis.
