Down in Summerville, South Carolina, the tea plant is cultivated so successfully that the product is marketed at a profit. The plant is grown both in the open and under shelter; as the operations of weeding, pruning, cutting, sorting and packing are shown and the picture gives one a vivid idea of what is necessary in the manipulative sense for the cultivation. The old ways of cutting the tea leaves was by hand; the film illustrates a machine, resembling a reaper, doing the work.
