- Tara becomes upset when she learns that Max spoke to her therapist behind her back about her shadowy new alter, named Gimmie. Kate becomes upset with her boss, Gene, at work which leads to both Tara and Kate deciding to go on a road trip together to try to make up for lost time. But things turn bad when Tara and Kate get into an argument over Kate's promiscuity. 'T' emerges and runs off to go to the nearest tattoo parlor and Kate is forced to run after her before she makes a permanent mistake. Meanwhile, Max begins to investigate more into Tara's past but finds just more dead ends. Also, Marshall decides to take his friendship with Jason to the next level.—matt-282
- Tara is upset when she learns that Max spoke to her therapist about her new alter, named Gimme, without her being present. Max also tells her that he's been looking what may have happened to her at boarding school. Kate is upset with her boss at the restaurant so Tara suggests they just take off for a few days. Things don't go very well however when 'T' emerges and Kate has to play the role of the responsible adult in their relationship. Max decides the time has come to talk to Skip Johanssen about what may have happened to Tara at boarding school that caused her alters to develop. Marshall decides the time has come to take his relationship with Jason to the next level, with surprising results.—garykmcd
- Open with Tara and Max in a session with Dr. Ocean. The conversation turns to the Gimmie alter, which Ocean tells Tara "holds all your raw emotions" and exists to "keep the truth from coming to light." Max tells Tara that he knows the name of the guy who may have raped her at boarding school and Tara storms out of Dr. Ocean's home office.
Outside the house Max tells Tara that he got the man's name (Trip Johanssen) from her old roommate, and there is no record at the school of any incident. Tara tells him she has no idea what happened and that Max is acting like a cowboy riding into to town to clean up.
At Barnaby's Gene asks Kate on a date. She tells him she's getting sick and he lets her go home.
Tara goes to Kate's room and finds her sulking about the situation at work. When Kate says she wishes she could "get away" like Tara does, Tara suggests they go on an overnight road trip together to a local galleria.
Max sees Marshall trying to buff up by doing push ups on the floor of his bedroom, and he tells Marshall that is leaving to do some "stuff." .
While driving, Tara tells Kate how much Max has been worrying about her lately; Kate offers that they stop at a hotel much closer to home.
Charmaine comes to the house and sees Marshall after a run.
In their hotel room Tara spots a tattoo parlor out the window, and Tara makes a crack about getting tattoos to honor their night together. Kate heads down to the pool.
While borrowing clothes from Tara's closet, Charmaine tells Marshall enthusiastically that she has a date with an environmental lawyer.
Having a few beers, Neil tells Max that Tara was right about him having a cowboy personality and that he should embrace the idea.
At Tara and Kate's hotel, there is a conference for pharmaceutical sales reps . Tara comes down to find Kate flirting with a 30-something guy and using a fake name and bio. The guy's buddy comes over and pulls out tickets for free drinks.
Marshall and Jason are home alone and deciding what kind of booze to drink. Gene shows up with soup and a DVD for the "sick" Kate. After leaving the soup in the kitchen, Gene grabs a picture of the young Kate off the fridge and takes it with him. Marshall and Jason go off to Marshall's bedroom to work on their "project."
Max pulls up outside a huge office building labeled "Johanssen Investments."
Talking with one of the pharmaceutical reps, Tara soon notices that Kate and the guy she had been flirting with have disappeared .
In the lobby of the Johanssen building Max meets a man named Charles Johanssen who tells him that his brother, Tripp Johanssen, works in the Chicago office. Max leaves without saying anything more.
After watching a movie in Marshall's room, Jason describes to Marshall how sheltered his life has been. Lying on their backs on Marshall's bed, they discuss the issues they both have with their respective mothers. Jason yawns and drifts off to sleep.
Tara finds Kate and the man with whom she had been flirting making out in the hotel's hot tub. Tara pulls Kate aside and asks what she's doing. Kate tells Tara that she knows about her mother's flirting with the skinhead a few episodes earlier. When Tara tells her that it was T who was flirting, Kate responds that she and T are the exact same person, and she runs back into the hot tub. Tara's eyes close and a few seconds later she jumps into the hot tub between them as the bikini-wearing T. When Kate threatens to call her daddy, Max, T wanders off. Unnoticed, Tara's cell phone rings on a chair. (It is Max trying to reach Tara.)
Kate finds T about to get a tattoo at the parlor next to their hotel.
Marshall gently takes Jason's glass from him and places it on his bedside table. Then he slowly leans over and kisses a sleeping Jason. Jason awakens, looks shocked but then kisses Marshall back.
Kate argues that T is getting the tattoo on "moms body." Just as the needle first touches her skin, T snaps into Tara and tells the artist she doesn't want the tattoo after all.
Tara and Kate lay in bed watching a movie. We see that they've gotten small matching tattoos on their lower abdomen. Kate comments that her father will flip when he learns of their tattoos.
Max comes home and finds Marshall drinking tea. When Marshall starts talking about Jason, Max realizes Marshall's feelings. "Oh, son," Max says dreamily. "nothing like love." Still unable to reach Tara's cellphone, Max leaves a message on Tara's voice mail telling her that he'll stop digging into her past, if she wants him to.
