Sorta disappointed.
nada_magdy22 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I mean, imagine taking the characters of one of the funniest and most relatable Egyptian sitcoms and then ruining them. The writing felt forced into representing a society that isn't really Ola's. And isn't necessarily Egypt. The Ola that represented the middle class habits, work ethics, goals, struggles, interactions and clothes. I get that she may have evolved and all but some things never change and this Ola felt nothing like the original character imo. The series is enjoyable on its own but to me, it just lost what made "ayza atgawez" special in the first place, relatability. And I also didn't like the fact that they portrayed Ola using a photo of her mom without hijab as such a noble and liberating act, it felt disrespectful to me, a young adult, and I'd imagine most Egyptian moms would feel the same way had they been in that same situation. Sawsan badr looks beautiful with and without hijab and they just shouldn't have suggested that using a photo without her hijab is because she's celebrating her beauty and is still young etc. It's just offensive to suggest that it's only for old people. It also felt out of character for her mom to accept such an act so easily. And then her husband's character just doesn't add up, so many contradictions tbh. Like the same husband who's so respectful and understanding after divorce who easily gave her all her rights and was so civil is the same one who made her quit her job and lose her friend! Just doesn't add up to me. And her struggle is just unrealistic, I mean, I get it's a comedy after all, but still, I kept hoping to find the Ola, that once perfectly portrayed the struggles of the young Egyptian girl trying to find a husband in a funnier and more relatable show, throughout the series and it just didn't happen. The struggles of a real mom aren't there. The struggles of a real daughter aren't there. The struggles of a real wife or divorcée are far from being there. It's enjoyable and worth watching but just lower your expectations.

TRULY INSPIRING
halawaleeddd5 February 2022
I loved everything about the first season , and when I found out that it was getting another season I was over the moon , usually after so long I was scared that I won't be good but the show did not disappoint.it's beautifully written , and following ola on her path and to see her get back her voice and how she dealt with everything is heartwarming,

Every little detail stood up from each character's flaws , to style and even the soundtracks .

Ola's sense of humor never disappoints, her sarcastic comments makes everything so much better

I hope that we get to see another season , And pay more attention to zeina and Nessrine's stories too.

Where is our Ola abdel sabour ??
M-Winchester28 February 2022
Its really good show.

Hind Sabri is amazing as usual I enjoyed the story and I liked the soundtrack But if you looking for a sequel you'll be disappoint its a bad sequel. From changing ola's social class and forcing her into higher class to changing ola her self .

I don't say they ruin (ola ) but definitely this is not the same character we liked in (Ayza Atgawez) I know 12 years is a lot but I think the changes they made is too much.

Unexpected Arab gem!
christineballone4 February 2022
I have to admit that I couldn't wait to leave a review even after only starting the first episode. I wasn't sure I wanted to watch something Arabic so I checked out the trailer and was immediately hooked! Into the first episode my liking for the show was confirmed! I love finding out that we are all the same with the same problems.

Netflix has productions going on all over the world. Some are bad some are mediocre and some are excellent! This for sure is one of the latter!

I got attached to the main protagonist right away because her circumstances are so familiar and you get immersed in her story!

Can't wit to continue and I'll probably will bing watch this gem!

BTW I love watching with the original language, I find I get used to it very quickly and it makes watching the show much more authentic!

Brilliant
charlizewatson3 February 2022
If a series doesn't catch my attention in the first episode, I won't continue. I binged watch the whole series in less than a day.

I enjoyed the storyline, so very much. I'm all about women empowerment, and I'm sure it'll give many women the courage to live their lives for themselves. Too many times, we fall into the trap of pleasing society.

Thanks to all who took the time to create this really outstanding series. Let's not forget the phenomenal acting 👏 bravo.

Last but not least, please...don't take too long to start filming season 2. I'll be waiting patiently.

Hind Sabri is excellent!
andredejongh7 February 2022
Love this series. I love discovering on Netflix cinema and series from all over the world. Like people were able to do in the past, on the radio, finding stations from other countries. Finding Ola is very well produced, very well acted and really hilariously funny at times. Hind Sabri, most of all is excellent. The woman knows how to act: drama, comedy, she has it all in her. Hello, Hollywood...?

More than beautiful
hasnyya25 November 2022
First of all I think we all agree that Hind Sabri is the best actress in the Middle East

Second I thought that I will see something familiar to the Aiza Atjoz but I was surprised with something great and different especially the quality, I was over the moon when I found out that there's a second season

Can't wait to see it I'm sure that they will come up with something great same as the first season Hind Sabri words cannot describe how amazing you are, every time I see you , my admiration for you increases Thank You for everything and can't wait to see you again

We love you very much Hind Abdullah Hasnyy.

unauthentic
rurucake12 February 2022
The only authentic thing about this show is the language, everything else is so un-Egyptian. The culture, the dress, the setting, home interiors. Clearly made by a bunch of Americans.

Positive reach
begoo-4883917 March 2022
I'm really impressed by the acting of the cast, they were beyond amazing.

In my opinion some reviews are being tooooo harsh, the series is really realistic change of ola's character, sure she is not representing most of the Egyptian classes but her character definitely exists in society.

And the message behind her character will empower women not to stay in toxic relations which is needed in our society that dooms divorced women not only by her freedom but even giving her 'cliche' nicknames.

The best part in the series for me is the parents activity that they did in the camp.

And how they showed fathers being vulnerable which did not exist in my experience and was lacking in my childhood. Maybe that would teach future parents to include their children and to build a relationship with them beyond a son and a father...

Israeli review
lianlands10 June 2023
A couple of month ago i decided to watch series from the middle east and north africa to get closer to the hearts of our neighbors in a way that we can...in a world of division, where it is scary to reach out- i found myself crying marly for the fact that we are so much alike than different. Finding Ola made me feel close, to the culture, the fight of breaking out from the chains of the past, it is all spoken about in this series.

I fell in love with the characters, especially to Ola, a strong, loving, relatable woman who is experiencing her new self in the modern world... and tasting the Egyptian culture through the serie just fulfilled my mission- to feel closer to our so called "haters"... and heal myself from the political brainwash which i never fully believed in. This series gave me hope <3 If anyone is reading this and wants to feel closer to us for real, i recommend watching the following series- 1. On the Spectrum- by Dana Idisis 2. Rehersals- by Noa Koler 3. Bluddy Murray- by Stav Idisis 4. Ramzor(Traffic light)- by Adir Miller.

5. Lehiyot Ita(she's with me)- by Assi Azar.

6. Manayek- by Roy Iddan

Good luck with finding these series, sending good energies and wish for a healing journey to the person reading this <3.

lighthearted
honegm8 February 2022
The best courtesy for ayza atgwez! Hend Sabry absolutely killed it as always. As a fan of the old show;I was very excited and quite hesitant about it getting a new part, but it exceeded my expectations!!! The chemistry between Ola and Sohair is still there, even by replacing Nesreen with a different actor. This part was also very light and discussed major issues in the society as always of divorce. If you're looking for another heart warming show, I'd definitely recommend.

I'm speechless
liniblal21 February 2022
It's just an amazing show, the level of the realistic senior is huge, it's in the heart of the topical arabs culture ,the non-spoken norms.

You will immediately fall in love within the main characters, the struggles, the ups and downs.

The soundtrack, songs lyrics are carefully designed to make your own experience better.

I highly recommend to watch it in the original language, the experience was amazingly funny.

I just love it 😉. Enjoy watching it.

So Stupid and waste of time
vip_most10 February 2022
So fake, and worse than any Egyptian tv series. What was the point? What is the stroy? Nothing new, and they live in a bubble, has nothing to do with the real Egypt.

Egyptian Comedy series
qui_j20 February 2022
This series shows a side of Egyptian life which may or may not exist. If it does exist, it can only be relevant to, and enjoyed by the minority of the population with money, who are extremely wealthy. However, Egyptian cinema has always set itself up as the Hollywood of the Arab world, never real, always looking to appear westernized and separated from the reality in the country. While this may work for some of the countries in the Middle East e.g Lebanon, Israel, it does not work for all, especially those in which a western lifestyle does not match the "lived" reality in the country.

It is the comedic timing and acting skills of the lead actress, Hind Sabri, that carries the show. The series plays a lot like a weekly American Sitcom that is focused around modern family dynamics. While this series is funny at the start, they often have a finite lifetime so would be very unsure if a second season for this series would work.

Hend Sabri, you're just awesome 😍
debchak-5264328 November 2023
Hend Sabri is outstanding - she's just outstanding 🙏

She carries the entire story on her strong shoulders at ease.

For that matter she's any director's delight 😍

The supporting cast were indeed good to make this one a 10 Star for me😊

The story of this modern age women's journey has been very well depicted.

I'm confident that Finding Ola will send a strong yet subtle message to the married (or yet to marry) menfolk that you need to handle the woman in your life very carefully 😂

Menfolk don't dare shatter her world because it may boomerang too bad for yours - share your concerns and she may come out with a loveable solution 🤗

Again, Hend Sabri you're too awesome 😍

my opinion
Ahmedfadil006 February 2022
We needed a second part of the series in order to understand how Ola's life became. This series was an honorable and respectable finale of the series. I listened very much. I watched the first part almost. I was 15 years old, and I can see the second part at the age of 23. Thank you.

Finally Netflix got it right with arabic series
kkodkod18 February 2022
I dont like arabic series usually But this one is very well written and the story movement gets you interested all the time I think the problems they're tackling are vety relatable in todays society The production i love the directing i love the character development One negative point is that ola's mother's mother left her alone and never cared for her , which is why she's so strong yet very interested in ola having a man to support her .

This is not Egypt
ehab-677402 March 2022
  • Fake

  • Extensive use of western words and terms

  • Trying to mimic westerners, we know this is not in Egypt, so i couldn't feel it

  • the writer want to dump all his newly learnt stuff, i just see inferiority.

Needs better marketing ...
nIGHTmAYOR8 February 2022
This mini series is well thought of , it wads through the types of men and understanding the emotions of women yet not as a boring scientific presentation but as a light comedy .

This type of series is really hard to achieve and reminds me much of "The Good Place" where they try to simplify so much by modulating what they want to say in an act and this is exactly what happens here (Of course there is no similarity what so ever to "The Good Place" plot) .

This series comes as follow up to a similar successful one that aired in Egypt in 2010 with the same mindset that was named "I need to get married" but seems 12 years managed to give the author of the script more depth and professionality to achieve this more smooth and simple than earlier attempt .

Definitely a must watch for the amount of experiences you gain from it .
