I viewed a screening of this film yesterday, 7/12 at LA's Outfest where it was first on the program. "The Closet" is a fine example of film making art - telling a complex sensitive story through images, i.e., visually with very little need for words. It is magnificently cast and acted - a real gem. Had it been programmed with similar short films, it would have been even more appreciated, I believe. In the program on 7/12, it was a bit overshadowed by the full-length documentary verité following it, however all who created it should be quite proud of what they have achieved.
There was a Q&A with Director Hendler and Producer Huberwald in attendance. Unfortunately, I was unable to compliment them on their achievement since time was short. (Comments on the 2nd film took up all the Q&A time.)
