Finally we come closer to the end, the edge of creation and it's downfall.
And it was especially in this episode, where I was thinking that it becomes a pattern, in which every older person (Adam, Eva) with more wisdom and knowledge is keeping this knowledge and motivs secret.
In any other show this would be frustrating, but this show with its amazing pace spits the big answer right in your face.
So as a tip: Take a breather after this episode, maybe think about some theories and continue.
As I am doing it right now. :)

This episode was phenomenal, the main theme of the episode was maternity, Hannah discovered she's pregnant and she met Katharina's mother who's having an abortion and we found out that also Martha is pregnant with the creepy trio who's also Tronte's father in both worlds...This makes things even crazier because Martha, The trio, Tronte and Ulrich are all their own great great grandfather/grandmother. And Martha is both the daughter and great grandmother of Ulrich. It's a never ending circle without an ending or a beginning.
The origin

The best in Season 3 so far. And what an episode there are so many questions that have been waiting for an answer for a long time, and now some of them have already been answered.
Most of the characters that we have seen from the beginning of the series until now we have discovered that they are from the lineage of Jonas and Marta, so Marta is the mother of the triple man who in turn is the father of Tronte and Tronte is the father of Ulrich, who in turn is the father of Marta. Everything is connected in an infinite circle, the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning.
From the family tree that appeared on the wall, Agnes was connected to the sign of infinity in both worlds for those who did not understand the sign of infinity denotes the triple man who is the son of Marta and Jonas, so Agnes is the wife of the triple man who plays the priest in the year 1954. Doris thought that the priest, Agnes' husband, was Noah, because they disappeared at the same time, but she is mistaken because the priest in question is the Triple man, not Noah, because he told Doris that he was a priest before Noah.
Finally, I understood why Marta's death in the second season is necessary, because had it not been for her death, Jonas would not have been associated with Marta from the other world, and therefore the Triple man would not have been born, neither Tronte nor Ulrich, nor even Marta. Therefore, most of the characters exist in both worlds except for Jonas, Martha and the Triple man.
Dark continues to amaze me, episode after episode, everything is connected in a very beautiful way. All you have to do is focus a little and you will understand the story and events well. I tried to explain everything I understood through this episode, I can't wait to watch Episode 5.

Could this series get any more boring. New characters who no one cares about. Old characters brought back in for no reason to add to an already convoluted plot that's ran out of control. The last drop off in quality this was bad was in heroes.
Sometimes keeping it simple really works.
Thankfully there's only 4 more episodes to go otherwise I wouldn't bother with anymore and tbh, I'm only sticking it out to keep my wife company.

Egon was actually the first one who said "I love you" to Hannah... But it's ok. Doris cheated on Egon first. And do you know what the pregnancy means? Jonas and Claudia are siblings, but they don't share any parents. It's just his mother having an affair with her father. Also Katharina probably got her name because of Hannah introducing herself as Katharina Neilsen. The Trio is Jonas and Martha's son. It's so amazing how the entire Nilsen family is a loop: The Trio is Tronte's dad, Tronte is Ulrich's dad, Ulrich is Martha and Mikkel's dad, Mikkel is Jonas's dad, Jonas and Martha are The Trio's parents; talk about full circle they use the way they film the scenes to reveal things and not necessarily saying them out loud. For example, in season 2 episode 1 they revealed adult Elizabeth just by cutting from adult Elizabeth to young Elizabeth. The same thing happened in season 1 when Helge was revealed that he is helping Noah (just by showing him dragging Eric body outside the bunker). Also, it happened when they revealed Charlette/Elizabeth twist (just by showing Elizabeth looking at the pictures). That's why when Adam and Noah were talking they mentioned it so fast (because the initial reveal was done).
Everything has a beginning..

The beginning is the end.. and the end is the beginning!
This was a great episode that gave us a completely new understanding of " Adam and Eva" as well as a major hint to who "The unknown" is! Wow! Incredible end that really shook things up and made me very excited too se how the second and final part will play out!
This episode shows how every character has a motive and how you can not trust anyone cause they will tell you whatever serves their own interests!
The stuff in 1954 was equally interesting as it further develops Hannah and how she nails her description of Winden and its people!

What a revelation.
Zhukov9427 June 2020
Didn't see that revelation coming.
On another note however, 4 episodes in I'm starting to get worried that existing and new questions are just piling up whilst answers arent coming at an equal rate.
Really enjoying this season so far. Hopefully the latter half continues, but with the necessary finality.

OK, so for me this episode was as good as any other. Some questions were answered, many others appeared.
But now I saw for the first time something which let me rip my hair and for the love of god, this needs to be told. So first it is a bit strange that Martha sleeps SO fast with Jonas, they barely know eachother... but.. ok, so be it! But now it comes. He didn't wash himself. No, really. Look at how amazingly filthy he is (and she too but he much more), he literally hasn't washed himself in weeks possibly. And just like that THEY HAVE SEX despite having a perfectly fine bathroom literally next door! That is not only disgusting, it is outright nonsense, especially when you consider that they will at the beginning of the next episode leave her house in the morning - UNWASHED. Sorry but NO, that cannot be believed. Normal human desires, toilet, sleeping, washing, eating and drinking are constantly ignored in this series (and it plays a role when you travel in time and suddenly have no home where you can go to!) but with the sex scene here, it really tops it all.
That had to be said.
Other then that: Very good.

Chapter 4 of the third season is another hoax. We could talk about the biggest clickbait, if a website headdline was. It's not a question of needing an hour to reach conclusion, but that hour was not necessary. AT ALL. Already with the trailer we all suspected what/who/which the origin was. And who doesn't predict it, shouldn't put their hands on their heads. They reveal mysteries in a childish way and that do NOT contribute ANYTHING to the plot of the series. Dark has been stalling since chapter 2 (i mean, seriously, we don't need the chapter one. totally useless!!)
Til now, a total shame.

Ouroboros
Hitchcoc4 December 2023
I have great faith that in the final episodes we will get a clean view of everything. The writing has been beyond good and will continue to be so. Yes, everything evolves around Jonas and Martha. The problem for them is that they cannot remember their pasts well enough to work things out between them in the present. Is there danger in their coming together. No one has enough history to reconstruct things. Even Jonas has trouble knowing his next move. He has some really intense paranoia which keeps him from revealing himself. He at times forgets how crazy he appears to others. He then clams up when asked things. On a completely "out there" note. Why does everyone have backpacks? Is this a German school kid thing?

...of his harelip. It keeps changing from one side to the other. It's making me bonkers. I don't think he's in both worlds, is he? As Jonas is only in one world, the one where Marta dies...
Or does his harelip change from side to side depending on which world he's in...? Nobody else's did that, hair parts changing/the color of heterochromia's eyes are the same...
I shouldn't complain, I'm obsessed. I've binged all three seasons at once. I'm glad of this.

More great storytelling

Jonas and alt-Marta connect.
This is another very strong episode with cinematic moments.
As ever the storytelling is detailed with those fantastic connections between characters and events across time. There are a number of standout character moments that hit hard and make previous events and interactions make sense.
Generally the plot unfolds towards a big character reveal that that is quite impactful when it happens. Importantly the filmmakers use good visuals to show this as opposed to have at come in exposition dialogue. This is pretty impressive considering how much dialogue there is generally in the show.
As always there is a tremendous atmosphere generated in all scenes thanks to the cinematography, art design and sounds. The choice of music for the montage sequence is particularly good.

This season is a big dissapointment up till now, I didn't even finish this episode, I switched off as soon as the kissing started. I used to like Jonas but now he is obsessed with Martha and nothing else matters anymore, it irritates me more and more. I prefer to see her die and stay dead this time. I loved season one and two, watched them two times even and expected a stunning season three but now I feel like I am watching a bad reboot.
