The Tugwells' broken-down shack and cluttered yard is the same set seen in two previous episodes as the home of Tyrone Lovey: Love a Duck (1969) and The Clock (1969).
The title is taken from the Gospel of Matthew 22:39: "thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
When Doris is tip toeing out of Tugwell's cabin you can see the shadow of a hand in the doorway, calling Melvin the dog over.
