Be better without the bully
erinrichey-193379 April 2022
Cute show. The character of Misha is a little much. Throughout the entire show just when you think maybe she will be nice.........nope she's negative and a bully again. Almost stopped watching multiple times just because of her character. The others all seemed to grow and become better people, but Misha continued to be the same as she was from the opening episode.

Other than that definitely a cute show for young adults and kids.

good 6/10 show
trapp_3311 April 2022
The show is good, the cinema photography and the motion picture are pleasant and not bad, and I will not criticize the story and the plot because this series is directed at children and it would not be fair to say bad about it but the emotional moments was cheesy and unacceptable really I skipped all the emotional moments, I liked the characters and how do they try to get along with each other also I liked that they didn't make it so easy for the characters to get along with every thing, I liked Nas and Tom and sophie. I am waiting for season 2.

Could be more realistic.....
ultimateninja-2278524 November 2022
I find it next to impossible to believe that a high tech facility like this place has no security guards or locked doors and that these kids would be able to run around wherever they want without getting caught. Also, if you are trying to kill off someone, the smart thing to do is seal the room so that there is no chance of escape.

God forbid we should expect any realism from a kids show.

I have absolutely no sympathy for any of the characters and wish they had all been vaporized by the end of the first episode. The main character, Nas, being the worst of the lot as he is supposed to be the smartest, but also the least disciplined, not listening to his older sister and running off.

Entertaining, but I see some glaring plot holes
libby-xyz5 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Supposedly all of humankind has been safely tucked in for a long sleep and all their nasty carbon emitting activities have been stopped while nature reverses global warming. At which time everyone will be woken up. How ever long that takes. 2 years? 10 ~ 15 ~ 20 ~ longer? But then what? As we saw in the last episode the drones are capable of mass destruction. So does this destruction include the infrastructure? What about the population's houses? What about all the pets, domestic livestock and captive animals on farms and zoos that must be cared for? Will they starve while Duncan Monkhouse's drones restore the planet? What about the nuclear power plants that suddenly stopped having anyone watch over them? Will the drones be able to keep massive, multiple nuclear meltdowns from all of the nuclear power plants that currently exist in over 50 countries from happening that would bring about massive destruction and make the planet basically unliveable? What will all 9 billion humans eat when they finally wake up? Will the drones be planting food and storing it in preparation of the 'big wake up? And then technology will still essentially be the same, heavy on petroleum based energy, right? So mankind will pick up and go back to it's evil carbon emitting ways? Or will the drones be recreating society/civilization with all the tech and advancements but no carbon emitting, earth destroying technology?

What about all the military weapons, bases etc? Will Monkhouse obliterate all weapons of war? What about all the military base, shipyards, war jets?

And does Monkhouse really think the world will applaud him as the world's savior and give him medals, trophies and dinners? Or will everyone be so angry that countries stand in line to sue him into oblivion? What exactly is his plan?

Its for the young once. No doubt. I would loved it up to 8 at the rateing if I was a teenager. The age different in this class are a bit weird. Anyway i binged the season. Found it amusing. Even got entertainment. And am an old ass man. Exited to see if there will be a ses2. Rateing are silly low.

Brilliant fun, great casting & Robert Sheehan!
pmlmgb4 April 2022
Drama, action, sci-fi and British humour. Suspend your cynicism and enjoy 5 hours of great fun viewing with a fantastic soundtrack and VFX. A mix of The Goonies/Stranger Things.

Young cast are so talented and charming and the script is very funny. Robert Sheehan and Tom Basden add their unique humour, charisma and expert delivery... well worth a watch, whatever your age!

Disappointing for a Netflix Series
willwatson-4752310 April 2022
The actors can't act, the story is slower than a snail, I've seen better special effects and CG in university projects, the script just sucks, and the characters are just not interesting in the slightest.

The best part of this show is easily the boy with the yellow jacket, his acting is miles more impressive than the rest of them until episode 5.

Nas is just robotic, and not as a character trait, as in an actor can't act type of robotic.

Misha is just hard to watch, her character just doesn't develop and her mood in each scene doesn't relate to the scene at all. She's also just horrid to all the other characters, and yet she is still friends with Sophie, the one she insults the most.

Tom is like the same but opposite than Misha, his character's mood is always angry, even in times where it wouldn't make sense for anyone to be angry. He also talks like a wannabe army actor and it just doesn't work.

Chelsea is alright I guess, but her character is a bit all over the place. At least she displays the right mood at the right time.

Sophie is meant to be an older sister, but it's like her character was written by two different people, one knew she had a younger brother, and the other didn't. Her character type is just completely broken and doesn't make sense.

Bethan doesn't really have a character trait, she's just sorta... there. They try and give her character some trait in episode 5, but it was just completely out of the blue and didn't fit. You'll see what I mean.

Last notable character, Dalton Monkhouse, played by the amazing Robert Sheehan from Umbrella Academy. His character is easily the worst. This is a case where I really hope it's based off of bad writing because he is a fantastic actor. His character in this is just hard to watch, it just makes me cringe. It's not even a believable character. I can't put into words how bad the character is displayed.

I really can't tell if this is based off of a book or if it's an original. If it's based off of a book, I feel bad for the author. If it's an original, the writer needs a different profession.

TLDR: Slow story but an interesting concept, terrible acting, worse writing, not worth watching.

Upbeat SciFi - Give it a go
dodeca-649163 April 2022
New batch of young British actors and we are bound to see a few become future stars like Robert Sheehan. The characters and the acting are the best thing and the soundtrack is pretty memorable (reminds of Vangelis). Great to see the Eden Project used as a location as that place has been an ideal SciFi set for 20 years.

Worst story with two worst characters
sachinkumar-0766111 April 2022
This the worst story with two worst characters tom and sophie. There were no limit of stupidity for them.

I think the story writer was dumb.

Story could have been greater than this is tom get some punishment for his stupidity.

Fun show with a lesson for adults too
judehtwo1 April 2022
SciFi show with 12 rating but not just for younger people. Ideal viewing as a family and for anyone interested in the future of the planet.

Brilliant performances from younger stars and super performance as always by Robert Sheehan.

Hope we get a Season 2!

The Last Bus for tweens
TheTruthofItIs10 April 2022
"The Last Bus" (S01, 10-eps, 30+ mins, Netflix) is a Brit dramedy for your tweens, especially if they're nerdly triggered by terms like robotics and AI which are in every other sentence, and where tweens are geniuses and adults are dolts. This is a lot like Disney's "Lab Rats" so if that was for you, then you'll dig this.

3 Stars only for Robert Sheenan!
KolobosRexx7 April 2022
Ugh. A cool and freaky science fiction concept (basically "The Earth Dies Screaming" with kids!) But run into the ground by mostly unrelateable and unlikable kids and played out stereotypes and tropes. Only enjoyable for Robert Sheehan's genocidal baddie...

SCI-FI ROMP WITH A MESSAGE
zjddqk2 April 2022
Brilliant cast of young new and established actors. Superb casting all round indeed. Robert Sheehan as the tech guru egomaniac was awesome. A funny, heart warming tale with a serious underlying message of look after each other and look after the planet. Well done to all the cast and crew making this, and hope that the end leads to a further series in the future. A great bit telly. Thank you.

How does stuff like this get commissioned?
danielmeredithbutler6 April 2022
This must be appealing to anyone under 8 or has a lower IQ than their shoe size, from the wooden acting to the nonsensical story If i was considering torturing somebody i would force them to watch this rubbish.

Great for the kids
andy_casson4 April 2022
Great plot, some lovely humour, strong performances from the kids, I enjoyed the way their stories unfolded, and Robert Sheehan put in an excellent tongue in cheek Dalton Monkhouse. Would recommend for the 7-12 year olds in your home.

Fun and enjoyable
emelie23517 April 2022
It's an easy watch but Misha needs to tone down a lot she is my least favorite. She is a bit too negative for my taste compare to the others. It almost feels like a fight with her every single episode to just do the right thing and when you think she has learned she manages to prove you wrong. Show premise is really enjoyable and it is meant for kids and not adults so I don't know why so many are taking it that serious. It is a good in-between show.

This was a fun romp through some serious and interesting concepts. From anthropogenic climate change to the dynamics of successful intra and intergroup behaviour and inclusion. How authoritarian actions can manifest in all kinds of ways and are never positive. And a little bit of added philosophy. It's all wrapped up in a fun Goonies style adventure so all the serious stuff remains positive. There are some great twists at the end. I am glad some ages were clarified, as one part was a little confusing for a hot minute. All round really entertaining. Brilliantly acted, some laugh out loud moments mixed some really strong sociocultural messages. Loved it.

Cute sci-fi
smithdianes13 April 2022
A diverse British group of students taking a science field day trip to a futuristic museum. I've only watched two episodes but have enjoyed it. I'm not the demographic they're targeting but I'm a kid at heart and love sci-fi. I plan to watch the entire series.

Amazing show!
paoahzhai11 April 2022
I am 26 yo and I enjoyed the TV show as if I were a child. I loved the story line, the characters (including the insufferable Misha, lol) and the messages conveyed. I hope they renew it soon! P. S.: Watching Dalton Monkhouse was like seeing the same character as Klaus.

Stick with it and you'll be rewarded
Odulscoteng7 April 2022
One for kids/teens and families, but still richly rewarding for anyone who watches all 10 episodes. Robert Sheehan (Umbrella Academy) and Lara McDonnell (Artemis Fowl/Boiling Point) are the headline 'icing' acts, on the cake, in a show packed full of twists, turns, darkness and action. And boy, is it well acted throughout. But don't take it lightly, albeit a kids' show. Enjoy it.

A Character Driven Sci Fi Adventure With Heart
richarddford1 May 2022
I found it really refreshing to find a TV series for children where action, humour and characterisation are all strongly exhibited. The early episodes build the characters and they get closer as their journey progresses as they seek to unravel what's going on. Great performances from the young cast and episodes vary between menacing and hilarious. Roll on Season 2 as we need to know what happens next!
