I've never played the game.. so I'm not sure how the original storyline goes.. but I was hugely disappointed by the ending. The hero dies..?? or becomes the dragon? Wha?? It's made me lose complete interest in the entire series. Huge shame.. I really enjoyed it until that happened..

It was an alright series nothing special, but the ending is awful and woefully wrong about the sin of Pride.

These episodes and titles are based on the 7 deadly sins...so clearly a religious understanding of the 7 sins is required.

This episode of "Pride"...attempts to equate "revenge" as prideful. Avenging fallen loved ones and preventing the murder of future people (innocent or not) is not prideful. Ethan may be guilty of the sin of Anger/Wrath, but not Pride.

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Ethan didn't pridefully (without merit) stand up and say "I will slay the dragon" he was chosen by the dragon to become the "Arisen". He did not set off on the quest to kill the dragon until directed to by Hannah the Pawn.

Ethan is literal led to the final encounter where the dragon speaks and drones on about the sins of man and how it casts judgement even though it is itself a murderer, but its okay because it's just it's nature. The dragon is a sinner casting judgments upon other sinners...

The dragon is guilty of the sin of Pride not Ethan. The vanity in believing itself to be better than those it presumes to judge.
