Sex & Nudity

  • while on a mission, a man you are sent to kill screams, "Suck my di-" then cuts out as he is killed.

Violence & Gore

  • Blood spurts, with amounts of it differing depending on the weapon and range of shot. Blood doesn't stain however, it evaporates, more like blood from 300. A machete is an available weapon but its use isn't graphic, its more slashing. It's fairly cartoony and not realistic.
  • When the player is injured, they are able to conduct emergency first-aid, which can be graphic at times. The player character uses a knife and pliers to extract bullets from his body.

Profanity

  • Way less profane than Far Cry 3 or other sequels.
  • mostly 's***' and 'f**k' and language is used rarely. It depends which characters you are listening to.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The character is occasionally shown taking pills, but it isn't in a negative light as he's taking medication to suppress his malaria.
  • some characters smoke, others drink

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Probably the most tamest game in the Far Cry Franchise.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • The main character has malaria. He needs to take pills to suppress the effects. As a key concept to the gameplay, the player has 3 pills in every bottle. If the player doesn't have pills, the player can die due to the malaria going critical.
