Henry Kästner's corpse is found by the anti-consumerism commune he co-founded, being most zealous against money. He had caught fellow Jürgen Sassnitz stealing from the 'emergency cash' kitty to buy opiates he got addicted to mourning his wife's demise. Sassnitz has an alibi. Dr. Weissenböck's autopsy finds, Kästner was dumped in river Isar alive, seeming dead as the head wound triggered a previous condition. Kästner also had an affair with Nadine, wife of mate Kai Petzold, who found out but claims to have retained self-control. Several commune members helped him sneakily dispose of the body. Kästner secretly negotiated to sell the land he provided for the commune. His pregnant girl Suse Maiwald was behind that, having blackmailed him after an accident. The only adolescent, shy Bastian Kurz, proves the most helpful witness.
