Questions will suggest themselves
deickemeyer23 April 2015
The story of a tramp turned away from house after house, risking his life in the rescue of the son of a rich miller who but shortly before had treated him with especial severity. Two questions will suggest themselves when one sees this film: Was the boy at the house when the tramp asked for food at the miller's? If he was, how did he reach the mountain ahead of the tramp so as to fall over the precipice into the snow? If he wasn't at the house how did the tramp recognize him as the son of the rich miller, who had so recently turned him away? These points may be clear to most people, but the writer confesses to an inability to see them plainly. - The Moving Picture World, April 30, 1910
