I don't have a whole lot to say about the second episode of Clarice except that it was much better written, better paced, and better structured than its preceding episode. This episode grabbed my attention from an early point and effectively held onto it until the end. I still think there are some major writing issues in the series, particularly for certain characters. However, i'm confident that, if we continue to get more suspenseful plots like this, the series will fall into a stride and the character development will work itself out. But for now, we can only hope...

The series starts about a year after "Thr Silence of the Lambs" which was in 1991. So now Clarice is working cases in 1992. However in this episode the FBI keep referring to not causing another Waco. The Waco incident took place in February of 1993. Meaning Waco had not happening yet when Clarice and the FBI try to stop the militant group.
Better but still lacking

This was an improvement over the first episode....though not much. Still, slightly better with Starling's memories of her youth driven home by the things she had in common with those in Tennessee, and the song by John Prine. "Angel from Montgomery." I didn't care for the final scene , where the local people were observed as blank faces...as though living in a Southern State makes you more likely to be ignorant than living in places like Chicago, where it's common for dozens to be killed over a weekend alone. As if Clarice was lucky to have escaped West Virginia for Washington D. C. and the evilness that exists there. As John Prine said..."To believe in this living is a hard way to go". That applies no matter where you live.
Much better than first episode, now we're talking

Much much better episode than first one, but these reboots from stellar classics are not needed. I have already dropped from my DVR, The Equalizer. I'm glad this, the second episode of Clarice, was better than the first. I'm still confused about the significance and how this relates with Silence of the Lambs or Manhunter. They did mention Buffalo Bill. We shall see how this develops. I did enjoy this episode and it kept me involved.

Good show with a lot of potential

The show did a better job to hem up one of the issues I had with the pilot. And that's the relationship with clarify and the main FbI guy. It appears it is as it should be...team chemistry and the dynamics of a person in the bottom suddenly on the top, but without gaining the normal experience requisite to do so. And the inherent mistrust of everyone surrounding the elevated person. I was worried it was just a sexist thing. It's not. So I am glad the did not do a distracting cliche and are sticking to a it being a team building norm (storming stage)
Also glad the politicians daughter was not in plot. As that would be annoying, unrealistic and distracting. But I fear it may pop up in very 3 episodes

Boring episode

I liked the pilot MUCH better than the second. Militia episodes are inherently boring. They are always written with caricature type characters. Boilerplate Hollywood narrative. They are mind numbing stereotypes. If the next episode isn't better than this one, I don't think I'll be watching more.
Dead In The End

This Episode begins with Clarice, she is starting her day with sport. Paul takes Clarice to a crime scene. Clarice could be placed out of the ViCAP taskforce. Lucas Novak only wants to speak with Clarice. The FBI squad got attacked by The Statesmen group. Rowan has a conversation with clarice and Lucas. Rowan arrested Maggie for the shooting. Lucas points a gun on Clarice. Tomas shot Lucas to death with a sniper. Rowan got charged for his actions, he has to resign at the police. Clarice can stay at the ViCAP taskforce. Solid Episode of Clarice Season 1, an okay Episode without many action at all. I need more exciting moments for a higher rating!
Absolutely idiotic.

It is ludicrous to portray the U.S. Attorney General, not only at the site of, but actually commanding an operation in the field. And especially more so since it's a relatively minor operation against a fringe militia. I realize this show is fiction, but it should maintain a shred of credibility.
What a spectacularly awful show
terrylarosa19 February 2021
So contrived on how she was able to get in and there's no way the FBI would let her go in. Her superiors disdain for her is absurdly comical. Her accent is criminally annoying. Just a terrible, awful show with not one ounce of originality. The networks are failing miserably with their new crop of junk. Question is which show is worse. Walker, Equalizer or this one. By no surprise they're all reboots. Another bites the dust. Adios!!!
Clarice has a boss and he is ruining the show...take off Mr. Cudlitz!
gregg-524-16313521 February 2021
Clarice's boss Michael Cudlitz just about ruins the entire show for me. His acting is not only stiff but predictable bully factor got old after about 15 minutes into the pilot. I enjoy everyone else but if this show fails it's because of Cudlitz. He simply cannot act. It would be different if the character was unlivable but believable...not the case with Cudlitz. I can barely stand to watch any scene with him in it.
Bullets To Spare

The first episode drew me in more than this one. Already over the Buffalo Bill references and flashbacks. This was primarily a dialogue piece that felt like Tim Guinee's character was trying to mirror Dr. Lector in a way. Not really impressed.
Better than the pilot, but still not good
david-344424 February 2021
This episode marked a fairly substantial improvement over the pilot, which was awful. That's not to say that this episode was good; the show is still a notch below mediocre. While the writing improved somewhat, the acting From almost everyone is still as stiff and bland as cardboard. Overall, the show comes across as almost satirizing The Silence of the Lambs, only without humor. If they'd let the actors bring more of themselves to the characters, perhaps we could move past the "acting" and pay attention to the stories.
Meh

Some dude said the problem was the boss man but come on.. like everybody the old dude and the counter sniper said.. it's all about trust and Sterling didn't follow orders... period. Shut the sjw "women can do it all" bs and remember the chain of command. It exists for a reason.
And speaking of the plot.. I hope it picks up as the show continues because so far it's boring
Disappointing.

Warning: Spoilers
The first episode was more about the portrayal of Clarice, here it's a mess. Dunno what's going on half the time, just thrown in with the inclusion of unlikable flashbacks. She has to do everything while others do nothing, just to be accepted as one of them. While comedy actor Kal Penn has like two lines so far and constantly gives facial expressions. When it doesn't add anything, because he hasn't even been written in. Cudlitz the same, to a certain extent as well.
