Absolutely Adorable

I had this book as a child, and absolutely loved it. This is such a great adaptation. Grover is great, and this TV special is great for little kids, or older kids / teens / adults who want to get reminded of their childhood.

The sweetness of Sesame Street is eternal
Elvis-Del-Valle3 December 2023
This animated production of Sesame Street manages to revive the charm of the children's show and update it in a rather appropriate way. You can't expect much from something aimed at children, but what it offers is something simple and enjoyable for children. The characters have the same sweet personality that they had in the series Sesame Street with a lot of innocence and tenderness. Sesame Street's goal has always been to be a fun and educational show for kids with morals. This medium-length film offers healthy entertainment and a lesson about bravery. Grover fears encountering a terrifying monster at the end of the story and breaks the fourth wall quite a bit to make sure that doesn't happen. But what happens in the end can be interpreted as a message to have self-confidence, face your inner fears and gather courage. The Monster At The End Of This Story is a worthy return to the charming world of Sesame Street and guaranteed entertainment for the little ones. My final rating for this medium-length film is a 9/10.

Neat Adaptation Of A Sesame Street Book
jeremycrimsonfox20 January 2022
The Monster At The End Of This Story is an adaptation of the classic Sesame Street book The Monster At The End Of This Book. Here, the lovable, furry blue monster known as Grover, is excited to be the star of his very own story, however, like in the book, he gets scared that the title says there is a monster at the end of the story. However, his friends help him learn there's nothing to be afraid of.

As an adaptation, this short special takes some liberties, as it includes more characters like Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and one of my favorite Sesame Street muppets, Cookie Monster. The special stays true to the spirit of the book, even if the Muppets are now cartoons in a storybook world, as it deals with the lesson of how to face your fears, and it has some good songs on the subject. This is a good special for kids who are afraid and need help being brave.

New Medium, Same Heart

I've never read the book that the special is based on. Even still, this was a pretty fun ride. The animation is colorful and expressive, allowing for a different kind of humor that works well. The characters are in top form, especially Grover. There's a nice message on facing fears. It's simple, but it works.
