"Kanikuly Bonifatsiya" or "Boniface's Holiday" is the story of a friendly circus lion who goes on a holiday back to his roots, namely to Africa. There he meets a whole lot of little Black kids who are fascinated by the tourist. Luckily, Boniface is a nice lion like I already said, so he did no harm to any of these. Instead his circus lion instincts prevail and he shows them some tricks. In the end, he returns back to work. This is a cute little tail and a pretty good example of quality animation from the Soviet Union. There is a lot of it and Khitruk is one of the must masterful animators from that country or I may say from that collection of countries. This is one of the oldest here in terms of known animation from that corner of the world, but even at over 50 years old this is still a really decent watch and I recommend checking it out. Good story and animation. Thumbs up for Boniface. Too bad he only got this one film. Really likable character.
