What a sweet lady!

Warning: Spoilers
Rose Lipton is an older lady with an appropriate first name, she is very sweet. She is standing out in front of Walt Whitman and she loves the young students and happens to walk into Pete's class regaling them with stories about her coming to the United States as an immigrant. She came from Poland where a raw onion and black bread were delicacies and they came to the beautiful land of America. It is a truly tear jerking speech that warms you heart and Naomi Stevens does a terrific acting job bringing this delightful lady to life no wonder the students loved her so much! She inspires the kids in a way that any teacher would envy it. Unfortunately she becomes a very good hearted pain in the behind to the teachers even though the students love her. This causes conflict and makes Mister Kaufman feel like a "Cossack" after all she is so nice. In the end, she is given a job as a crossing guard allowing her to have the best of both worlds. This is a typical Room 222 ending I love so much.

Rose Lipton is a older woman who wanders into Parent's Day at the school and charms the students with her stories.

A good episode, a showcase for Naomi Stevens as Mrs Lipton, one of her best remembered roles was as Jack Lemmon's helpful neighbor in "The Apartment" (1960). A nice scene at the beginning as she makes friends with Pam while walking to school. The kids like her so much they try to convince Mr Dixon and Mr Kaufman to give her a job. However, there is nothing available for her.
