Don Harris is the appliance king of Chicago. He's afraid his only legacy will be the lovable but somewhat cheesy commercials for his annual "Uncle Donny's 76-hour Salute to America sale." During a meeting with his business manager, Don's told that unless this year's sale tops last year's, he'll have to sell his legacy property. During the same meeting he learns that his estranged wife Kathryn has died in her sleep. Don must tell his grown children the truth about their mother -- that she was committed to a mental hospital after two suicide attempts, not that she ran off to pursue her dreams of becoming a Rockette. All while offering the lower prices on his entire line of appliances. Oldest son Dale is in a dead end job, with a dead end wife, in a dead end life. He's infuriated when his father inexplicably offers half the store to his youngest brother. Daughter Deborah writes a successful series of Civil War romance novels titled "Hattie Jackson presents..." but really wants her great American novel published. Dominic marches to the beat of his own drum and pops in and out of the family with little responsibility. Youngest son DJ is a perpetual student, too afraid to face the real world. He's in love with Holly, who's not only the receptionist, but is also having an affair with Don. Written by Anonymous
