Unusual, surprising thriller

Seemingly just another "porn with plot" feature, this Adam & Eve vehicle for contract star Kayden Kross proves to have a few tricks up its sleeve, making it a true sleeper worth catching.

Basically, it presents a murder mystery with porn's usual minimization of story/characterizations/dialogue in favor of maximizing the XXX content. But by the time the cryptic freeze-frame signals the end something different has been delivered.

As signaled by the title, Kayden plays twin sisters: the movie begins with her as Kyra, a Hollywood actress having sex with a stud whose face is never shown in a lenghty XXX scene that follows the money shot with Kyra strangled to death.

Erik Everhard is the cop on the case who eventually becomes her sister Kayden's lover, after the quota of additional sex scenes are included.

It's a well-shot, well-performed feature, and the DVD provides one clever innovation that is particularly gratifying. As the movie leaves its basic mystery (namely the whodunit and why) unresolved, the brief (9-minute) BTS presents a concentrated story with Kayden that parallels the movie and explains things that are missing from it. Not to resolve matters and tie up loose ends but rather to give one possible interpretation.

With film noir-styled music by Octavio Arizala (who also made the BTS) this is a must for Kayden followers, especially now that the actress has turned to directing enigmatic tales of her own.
