A Good Fun Political Watch
californiademocrats5 December 2021
The film is straightforward and engaging. Funny even. While it does not necessarily push the political envelope, it scratches a certain itch one may feel for a light political film. Highlights for me was seeing Malcolm and Bob. For an art house film, it stands tall.

Inspirational content shot brilliantly
katieoconner5 December 2021
The difficulty with this content is that people will be divided emotionally because of their politics however if you look at the how the pure content was created the inspirational advance thinking and camera techniques combined with the producing approach to filming that tries to incorporate a true understanding of the characters in this documentary you will see this is worthy of a high review and not just partisan political comments.

Cried too many times....
lindabarnescanada6 December 2021
This film I got the pleasure of seeing in Toronto at the premiere and loved every minute. I was shocked at how many times I choked up because of the immigration parts.... so sad and captured well. If you love politics, watch this!

A story with guts and glory
nnprjonees27 January 2022
Came for Henry, but stayed for the unknown names.... the border part had me in tears. Cindy was great. I think for clearly an art house film, this carries major chops. Look, when we turn our heads back on that horrible time... we will remember the moment coming out stronger.... thanks for capturing this..... I cant imagine how dangerous it was for the whole crew to travel during the covid time... did anyone get sick I wonder... it doesn't show. Took guts to do that.

An angry and important film to witness right now
janelletylla17 January 2022
One Week 'Til Doomsday may not be the smoothest film, but it is the most urgent, angry and important film to witness right now.

Kudos to the entire cast and crew of this movie. History will remember this moment.

Native Rights Are Human Rights. PERIOD
JessicaPark19966 December 2021
It is about time someone actually spoke to native people in America. This pandemic hurt so many folx in the community and trump let them die... this movie highlighted those issues. So thank you. It's definitely indie, but i loved the grit of it. Worth the 5 bucks.

Fantastic documentary! Innovative approach!
qjdzrkfw24 April 2022
Very interesting documentary. Young and innovative crew in their choice of interviewees and questions asked. I liked specially the interviews with Bob the Drag Queen because it was a different approach. I would recommend anyone to watch this stimulating movie, specially in Portugal.

Congrats! Bibi Couceiro and Connor Malbeuf did a great job.

Engaging, Informative, & Just The Right Amount of Humour
justinealbrechtas18 March 2022
A must-watch for anyone who has tried to wrap their heads around the chaotic & at-most-times bizarre political landscape of the last few years. This doc covers a broad spectrum of perspectives, from high-profile to everyday people, which is one of the reasons why it works so well. With the perfect amount of humour and fun sprinkled throughout, One Week 'Til Doomsday pulls you in, immerses you in important issues, and makes you want to do something about them. Loved it!

Heart wrenching, insightful, joyful all wrapped into one documentary
shanhmarks18 March 2022
One Week 'Til Doomsday really does a beautiful job encompassing so many emotions all into one film. A topic so polarizing and at times so hard to understand, was made digestible in this film about the upcoming American election, but it goes further than that. The stories of the people who built, and who are America, and being able to see and hear from so many different perspectives, left you heart broken at times, made you tear at times, made you angry at times, but also left you happy, excited, and hopeful throughout other major plot points in the film. This all encompassing documentary on politics, economics, economic privilege, white privilege, cis-privilege, touches on so many topics in a light-hearted way that digs deep into the question: WHO is America? Watch to find out.

The show was heart warming, comedic yet serious & overall a fantastic watch. Looking forward to the next documentary by these producers!

Thank you for highlighting such an enormous amount of BIPOC characters and voices in this film. I learned so much about America and what it can become. Loved Malcolm especially. Hope he wins in the Senate race.

Incredible and life-changing
creightonbryce15 June 2022
I was surprised to find how much this little indie changed my perspective. I know i am late to this party... but the movie is pretty damn great. I hope people watch this and give it a chance, I have such an appreciation for the way they made this movie too.

Rarely do i ever find myself truly contemplating how i think about voting, people, humans, racism, etc. But this movie makes you think and laugh and somehow not hate yourself or the world. It gives you food for thought and it is super easy to watch. Great cameos too from important voices.

I mean, truly well freaking done. Amazing movie.

'One Week 'Til Doomsday' Is Reality TV for a Reality-TV Presidential Race
jenmuc27 June 2022
This documentary is an inside scope of the latest political happenings. As the beginning, it opens with a crunch time for the still large slate of presidential hopefuls. But these are not normal times, as the Trump impeachment trial in the US Senate is about to get started.

The production team is seemingly a well-oiled machine. The usual suspects (Connor Malbeuf, Bob The Drag Queen, and more...) are joined by a collection of well-versed political voices, as there is so much going on that a 4th person is a godsend. The film continues to be well-served by the seemingly unfettered "all access" to the candidates, but more importantly real-life people struggling with everyday issues. The energy is palpable, as these are all political junkies who just live for this stuff.

I binge-watched On Demand over the last day. Even though I obviously knew the outcome of what would happen, it really speaks to the strength of this film that I was absolutely transfixed from start to finish. If you have any interest in the political process of this country, I'd readily suggest you check this out and draw your own conclusion.

Pretty decent must admit
documentary-8324119 March 2022
This should be required viewing in school. Yes, of course the host uses all the tricks filmmakers use to tell a story in an engaging manner, but anyone who comes to this with an open mind will see that at its core there is a message that is deeply disturbing about our politicians. I take my hat off to all the brave people, from the left or right, who are prepared to challenge the "old boy" power structures that corrupt politics.

The little guy/girl prevails
pretenditsthecity23 February 2022
I loved seeing Texas small town drag queens represented in this. With all the horrible things happening around the country, this little indie film is a reminder that good stories deserve a platform to be shared. I hope you watch this - we were surprised truthfully. Also shows how we dodged a bullet my gosh darn it.

Important. Moving. Heart Warming.

Warning: Spoilers
WOW. Did NOT realize how much I needed this documentary until I saw it. This absolutely delivered an on-the-ground dive into a divided nation in such a heartwarming (and sometimes heartbreaking) way.

Bob was poignant and well spoken; the border interviews were shocking; and Christian Walker was downright terrifying. I loved the realness and heart that was put into this (the opening credits song wasn't bad either!)

I want a sequel!!

An Ugly History (with some laughs)
tpam-264606 August 2022
Greetings again from the darkness. Malbeuf is a generational spokesperson, and may very well be the future of the political docs. Mr. Malbeuf is a producer on this as well as Bibi Couceiro, who is quite funny in this too, for what it is worth.

The film provides an historical look at the different ways voters have been suppressed and how elections have consequences. It sometimes veers off and is too general. We hear from many historians, authors, politicians, and activists, yet it's Mr. Malbeuf who stands out. He takes us through his personal background and describes in detail the influence on why he is doing this project and road trip. We also learn much about the Tulsa Race Massacre, which happened to be the most emotional and hard to watch scenes.

A true history lesson on the title 14 border law is provided, with much of the lesson and commentary provided by Cindy Carcamo and Jason De Leon, who also shined in this, I just wish he was in person. We also hear from others, including Robert Turner and Hannibal Johnson, the new leaders of the Civil Rights movement.

So many aspects of United States elections are discussed.

The documentary is important as it connects history with the modern day issues resulting in a very disjointed America. Mr. Malbeuf and Bob The Drag Queen are vital voices on topics that should have been laid to rest many years ago; yet as long as the thirst for political power exists, manipulation of the system will be attempted. So, it's important that every citizen understand how this happens and what to be aware of.

A gutsy and worthwhile trip across America
hindleysue9 September 2022
Not sure how I got here, but this film made my heart happy. The stories were sad at times, and then the hosts were able to capture the heart and bring us all together. Highlights for me were Tyler Dodd in OK who is employing incarcerated black youth working in the marijuana fields. I wanted a little bit more on this topic, but I get that the film wanted to go everywhere so they could not focus on all of it. I would like to see this in 2024 or even the midterms..... people love to talk when it is election season. I like that the host didnt make the pc's seem dumb - he approached with respect so I will give him that. Christian was a whack job and Cindy made me cry...... that border issue is not about a border. Hope to see this in future years.... good movie.

Another need to see; it will make an activist out of you.
tylerperry-179956 August 2022
What makes this documentary worthwhile is that it sticks to a basic point: it doesn't matter if you're republican or democrat, we should all agree on the basic principle of democracy - one person, one vote, and that all people in good standing should be able to vote.

If you accept that premise then it's important to defend it, no matter your political views. Democracy is not a single, simple pure thing. It's messy. Various elites seek to capture the process. Preventing that is not easy.

The film's greatest strength is its moving portrayal of the cost of democracy,

Side note, I loved just seeing the vast landscape and aerial shots of America.

And they filmed this in COVID? Before vaccines? Not too shabby...

Again, whatever your political views, make sure you have the chance to vote - it's your duty.

An Important Documentary For the 2022 Midterms
portlandtraveltourism17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the most inspiring and touching documentaries I have ever watched. I was on the verge of tears several times. Tears of joy too. If we have people and passion and perseverance, we can accomplish anything. That's what I took away from this documentary.

I have read reviews that criticized this movie for being democratic propaganda, but I don't think that's true. They highlight many voices from many sides. Watching everyday citizens care enough to do something about it is not partisan, it's something that everyone can and should admire and aspire to do. I give this documentary a five out of five and you will thank yourself for watching this.
