Important research for "Feud,".

Warning: Spoilers
Through interviews with surviving cast members (Bruce Dern), families of director Robert Aldrich and Bette Davis (son Michael) and film historians/columnists (Michael Musto) provide truly interesting narration for this made for video documentary that is a great companion piece to both the film of "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte" and the TV mini-series "Feud", as well as fans of Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Olivia de Havilland. It covers the time between the Academy Awards for "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" and the replacement of Crawford with de Havilland, explaining why the replacement took place and how it changed the film, both behind the scenes and on screen. Robert Aldrich's daughter provides a good majority of the narration and that makes it from a different standpoint than the stars. Unfortunately, there are no Joan Crawford outtakes, the only downside to this little documentary. The use of rare skills go to show Crawford with a majority of the cast, but it is apparent by the backstage footage with de Havilland added that a good majority of the tension that would have been there had Crawford continued completely disappeared.
