The title is a take on the classic film, Village of the Damned (1960), also set in a quaint English town.
Blake Harrison is the fourth actor from The Inbetweeners (2008) to appear in Doctor Who after James Buckley appeared in Series 12's Orphan 55 (2020). Harrison played Neil Sutherland, while Buckley played Jay Cartwright, Joe Thomas played Theo Lawson in the Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor Adventures (2006-2011) episode Situation Vacant (2010). Thomas played Simon Cooper. Alex Macqueen who played Neil Sutherland's father Kevin Sutherland played The Master in multiple Doctor Who audio dramas for Big Finish Productions. Harrison also played as UNIT officer Daniel Hopkins in the Doctor Who: The Monthly Adventures (1999-2021) episodes The Helliax Rift (2018), Hour of the Cybermen (2018) and Warlock's Cross (2018).
