The Einsatzgruppen executions of 1942 portray all the major SS commanders (Blobel, Nebe, and Ohlendorf) visiting Ukraine execution sites along with Himmler and Heydrich. There is no record of Heydrich ever visiting the Eastern Front to witness an execution and, although Himmler did, he did so at Minsk and not in the Ukraine. The top Special Action leaders were also never in the same place together, since their commands were hundreds of miles apart.
During the Einsatzgruppen executions in Russia, Arthur Nebe is shown as an SS-Colonel. When these executions took place (fall 1941), the real Nebe would already have been an SS-Major General.
Hans Frank was 39 years old when he assumed duties as Governor General of Poland. Actor John Bailey who portrayed Frank was 64 when "Holocaust" was produced, nearly 30 years older than the historic Frank.
When Rudi and Helena are picked up by Russian soldiers, the Soviet captain along with his men have shoulder boards on their uniforms.
It is 1941, just before Operation Barbarossa is launched and Helena is trying to warn the Soviet captain that a German invasion was imminent. Stalin shunned shoulder boards as being a Tsarist legacy that had no place in the Red Army.
Stalin finally caved in to persuasion from the Party to introduce shoulder boards on Soviet uniforms in 1943.
