Zhang Yimou’s spy thriller “Cliff Walkers” strode into first place this weekend at the China box office with a $24.3 million score, bringing its cumulative total up to $118 million, according to data from consultancy Artisan Gateway.
It more than tripled the gross of “My Love,” the melodramatic rom-com that had outpaced it last week for first place, in what was the opening weekend for both films. The latter film came in third this week, grossing $8.9 million to bring its cume up to $113 million.
The reversal shows once more that strong word of mouth helps film burn longer and more brightly than hyped, star-driven titles, which can initially rake in huge numbers but hit a wall once the tap runs dry.
“Cliff Walkers” earned $1.7 million of its weekend score from Imax screens. That lifts the film’s Imax cumulative to $8million.

It’s all about loving the family on the Koffee couch with Karan this week with cousins’ actor Kajol and filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee. While Kajol does not seem to miss a bean in mentioning Ajay Devgn in response to almost every question Karan posed to her, Ayan was more than candid about his ‘love story’ with friend Ranbir Kapoor (who is practically more like family to him). It is expected that the usually straightforward Kajol will have quite the few quips to make for an interesting episode, what remains to see if the duo can up the Trp of the other Kapoor cousins episode from earlier this season.

Film: "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani"; Music Director: Pritam; Singers: Benny Dayal, Shefali Alvares, Vishal Dadlani, Shalmali Kholgade, Arijit Singh, Tochi Raina, Rekha Bhardwaj, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sreeram; Rating: **** - music excellent, youthful, catchy.
Packed with fast energetic numbers, the soundtrack of director Ayan Mukerji's forthcoming movie "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has nine tracks. High on energy and beats, it's an out and out fun and masti album. Though the inclination is towards vibrant and youthful compositions, it does have its share of emotional songs.
The album has an energetic start with "Badtameez Dil",.

The cast and crew of Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani had a blast while shooting for the song ‘Badtameez Dil’, composed by Pritam.
“There are a lot of youngsters on the sets and they don’t let go of an opportunity where they can have fun,” said a source.
Ranbir who stars in the film insisted dear friend Ayan to be a part of the song or he would not shoot for the party track.
The source further added, “There is a scene where someone pops open a champagne bottle and even smears cake on a guy. However, it took some time for everyone to convince Ayan to be a part of the shot. Ranbir even wanted Ayan to wear a coat. Finally the director gave in and shot for the scene.”

Maybe, for most of the genuine fans of Surya, K.V. Anand, the film ‘Ayan’ might have been an excellent film, but the fact is that it was copycatted from various Hollywood movies. For the second time, they will be joining hands together for a big budget movie produced by Ags Entertainment.
The producers in Ags Entertainment have been carelessly spending their money into various projects that in no way have earned them profit so far.
Right now, K.V. Anand is busy copycatting some of the sequences from Hollywood’s ‘State of Play’ that had Russell Crowe in lead role. ‘Ko’ has Jeeva, Karthika, Ajmal and Piyaa in lead roles and will have the audio launch in August.
The project of Surya and K.V. Anand will take off by February 2011 soon after the release of Surya’s ‘7 Aum Arivu’.

The original version directed by Surendar Reddy featured Ravi Teja and Ileana in lead roles. Set in backdrops of Malaysia, the film opens with parents of Nisha (Thamannah) fixing marriage with Krishna Kumar (Shaam), who has traveled all the way to foreign country for a mission of catching a thief.

Thamanna – this is how we previously addressed her and that was considered as a unlucky name for the actress as she couldn’t make it bigger in tinsel tow. Later, she made got an additional letter to the name that won her more offers. In fact, it all happened with the comeback in ‘Kalloori’. From them onwards, there was no turning back for the actress as she continued to make it big with ‘Ayan’, ‘Padikadhavan’, ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, ‘Sura’, ‘Thillalangadi’i and so many other regional projects.
It seems that the actress is referring so many actresses, who are not doing well in tinsel town. Say for instance, she has sent the actress Vedhika (Muni fame) to the same numerologist in Mumbai and so many artists are asking for his appointment through her.

What ascribes an actor to be successful? Is it merely with his performance or film’s success? Most of the times, it goes along with the latter category where a performer’s hard work and intensity levels are completely diminished with the film’s failure.
Here we bring some of the best actors of Tamil Cinema 2009.
Surya: Being one of the prominent actors on the main league, he has accomplished with couple of projects within short span of time. ‘Ayan’ and ‘Aadhavan’ have been two films like dissimilar poles and he did his best. But regrettably, he lost his reputation for his command of bad languages on journalists.
Vikram: He suited the role of a superhero, a Cbi officer and excelled well as a great singer. If ‘Kanthaswamy’ was a flop, Susi Ganesh has to be blamed. But an intellectual actor is supposed to make right decisions while choosing the script.

Bollywood actress Koena Mitra was the showstopper at the recent Bangalore Fashion Show as she glided down the runway in an elegant embroidered rust-red floor-length lehenga choli for designer Priyanka Thakur's traditional Indian collection called Bold & Bollywood. Koena was enthused by the occasion and the designs. "Priyanka's show was special and I liked her collection," she confirmed, "I felt great wearing her beautiful ghagra-choli.
