SH fans will probably like this
Milk_Tray_Guy1 October 2023
Well acted, well shot, well directed, well produced Silent Hill fan film. The whole thing has a professional look and sound. Vic Mignogna and Mercedes Peterson give solid performances as James and wife Mary/Maria, and the locations are suitably creepy. Two things hold it back. One, it doesn't quite have that eerie sense of other-worldliness I expect from Silent Hill, and two, it suffers from a similar problem as Christophe Gans' 2006 SH feature film - it's not very accessible to non-fans. I know this is a 'fan film', but that should refer to it being MADE by fans; non-fans should still be able to understand what's going on. I can see people watching this and thinking 'Well, it looked good, but what the heck was it about?'. Nevertheless, director Colten Dietz clearly has talent and is a name to watch for the future. 6/10.

Good for a "student film"
xjustinwadex19 December 2022
I know this probably wasn't a student film but it felt like one. Don't go into it expecting anything but what it is. A low budget, bad acted brilliant mess. Is the acting good? No. Is the directions good? No. Is the lighting good? NO! But is it a fun time? Yes. It is what it is. A weather take on silent hill that somehow mixes SH1 with SH2. For what reason? None, it could have worked without the SH1 character like the game did. You can tell some love went into this by someone, who is that? Idk but at least one person did for this to be made. A great low budget film could be made from this IP is more love went into it. The story is there. The people who make these just need more love for the original source.

Fantastic adaption!
ron_john4 November 2021
This film was Beyond gorgeous, a truly amazing adaption of the source material. The Director Colten Dietz, was extremely on point with bringing the silent hill universe to life. Vic Mignogna truly disappeared into the James character and I mean that in the best way possible. The Jail sequence with the leading lady Mercedes Peterson was completely memorizing. I truly hope someone gives Colten a bigger budget and lets him just go wild. His Silent Hill fan-film, wasn't just a great interpretation. It was the best Silent Hill project ever brought to the screen, easily miles above the Hollywood movies made and I truly suggest any silent hill fans out there to watch it and get the word out about the project.

Great looking film... a fun watch
yawjd1 November 2021
In a world where short films often sacrifice finish in favor of script, Silent Hill Restless Dreams confidently delivers both. Writer/Director Colten Reed Dietz has crafted a compelling script and stitched it together with tight camera work at the talented hands of Doug Monce and well-paced editing. The end result is a suspenseful and satisfying film featuring solid performances from an exceptionally talented cast.

Silent Hill Restless Dreams: A Surprisingly Good Time for this Non-Horror Fan!
BriannaWilkie1 November 2021
Let me start off by saying I'm not a horror fan. I have next to zip experience with the genre, and I have no experience with the Silent Hill franchise whatsoever. But when I found out Vic Mignogna (FullMetal Alchemist; Star Trek Continues) was starring in a Silent Hill fan film, I knew I had to check it out. If for no other reason than to put another nail in Cancel Culture's coffin. I had no idea what I was in for. Had no idea what to expect. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it. A lot. But to my surprise, I did. I wasn't expecting that. At all.

James (Vic Mignogna) searches for his dead wife Mary/Maria (Mercedes Peterson) in the town of Silent Hill. He's got to get past several monsters to find her. But the biggest monster he has to overcome is the one in his past. Maybe he is the monster?

The only problem I had with this film is that it was too short! (I'm shocked I came to that conclusion!) I wish it'd been longer. (What's wrong with me?!) And that ending! Wow! That's messed up! (I never saw THAT coming!) Congratulations to all involved.

This film was written, directed, and produced by @directorcoltendietz You have a bright future in the industry ahead of you. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next. Congratulations on your success. Thank you for involving Vic in your projects. For some reason the combination of the two of you reminds me of James Gunn and Michael Rooker. Keep up the good work!
