Following the broadcast of her previous TV special, Raquel (1970), the press accused Raquel Welch of lip-syncing to an uncredited singer's vocal recordings. The title of this special pokes fun at that rumor, and buried in the credits it states: "Miss Welch's Voice by Raquel Welch."
Patrons of the Las Vegas show were treated to a brief climactic moment that was deemed unacceptable for TV. As Welch finished singing, "I'm a Woman," she proved it by peeling off her dress, exposing her breasts, which were adorned with pasties. Seconds later, the lights went out. In the TV special, she opens the dress with her back to the audience as she exits the stage.
Raquel Welch donned $500,000 worth of jewels borrowed from Van Cleef for the taping of this special.
For many years, this special was rumored to have been lost, but a copy surfaced on YouTube in 2018.
Sid Krofft met Alfred Hitchcock and told him that he was going to make the puppet of him. Mr. Hitchcock remarked, "Make sure the puppet is not too fat." As one can see in the TV special, Mr. Krofft ignored this creative advice.
