The worst film I have seen in quite a while

If you read the title "Nichts als Ärger mit den Männern", which means "Nothing but trouble with men", you should already know very well what to expect here, namely stupid anti-male propaganda with "likable" female characters, who are at best unrealiable and at worst evil. And this is exactly what you get. And don't tell me that the ending with the men (the father and the love interest) bonding ith the female protagonist again, also shows are the men are not all bad. They are supposed to beg for mercey from the female protagonist to be accepted by her again after all the evil stuff they did before that. But the female protagonist of course has such a kind heart that she forgives them because they are lovable nonetheless, despite their flaws. Thank God the female main character is really perfect and has no flaws and everything she has to go through and suffer from is really because people are not as kind as she is. Disgusting movie. Let's elaborate a bit on the basics though. The most disgusting thing perhaps is that the director is even a male and so is one of the two writers, even if it is the one who probably had the smaller impact. Actually both writers, especially the male for whom it is the only writing credit and who also plays a supporting character in here, have acted a lot as well during their careers. But let me say that the majority of projects this filmmaking trio have worked on were not good at all. And this is already expressed in a very gentle manner. And despite the many flaws in their careers, this film can be considered a potential choice for most horrible achievement they came up with. It is that bad. They really did not solve each other's mistakes, but brought out the worst in each other. As for the cast, they are not any better. Jule Ronstedt is absolutely not lead actress material. Admittedly, as bad as she is, she is not as bad as her male co-lead Stephan Luca. I have seen him in many films I think and he is always bad. Unreal how he still gets cast. Or how he still got cast back then because this film is over ten years old. So the two lead actors here are on a level where they truly "succeed with" the impossible to make this already horrible script seem even worse. Takes a special lack of talent for that. As for the supporting cast, they are all somewhere between gimmicky and forgettable, but none of them has the material to make this movie at least occasionally worth watching. Their stories are nonense too. Really sad to see an actor like Vogler in the later stages of his career in films like this one. He appeared in many crappy movie in the new millennium. His character is a joke too. How he constantly complains to his daughter and at the end out of nowhere comes to her and says how much he loves her. All for the sake of it. Of course, he also gets his implied love story with a character who is even less memorable than his. Oh yeah, love is all around. There are also two employees dancing with each other on one occasion, minor supporting players. They don't have a story, but still let's imply there is love between them. God one must be stupid to believe anything related to this film or find anything authentic.

Now I will elaborate a bit on the key plot. This is the story between Luca's and Ronstedt's characters. Of course, with the garbage level all along here, it would be easy to see that they end up together, even with the pseudo drama of him still dating another woman. They really got it all wrong there. They wanted to depict him as not worthy of Ronstedt's character and at the same time they wanted us to like him because of how he has no feelings for the other woman anymore and ditches her eventually. And also because of his character transformation. Or what is the outcome when completely untalented writers try to include character transformation for an actor who is equally void of talent. I mean just one example there: The glasses. After he meets Ronstedt's character and the two make a connection, he is no longer the stuck-up "block of ice", but loosens up. Apparently this also infinitely improved his visual skills because he never wears glasses again afterwards except on one single occasion. Oh the impact Ronstedt's character has on him is so magnificent, what an inspiring woman she is with how much she cares and takes care of old people and children. Sigh. I was already aching really badly when we hear the senior choir in the very first minute. The cringe is real. There are really so so many moments during which this film sucks horribly. Some were indeed so bad that they were actually funny again and made me laugh because the filmmakers took these moments seriously in fact. Just one example (or two): There is talk from a minor character about how the male protagonist could be about to lose interest and she is clearly talking about the company and the protagonist gives a response while sighing at the same time saying something similar that he probably has lost interest altogether, but she is referring to the romantic interest he may have (had) for her. How suspenseful. As if anybody with an IQ over 50 may not realize they end up together. Also I just cannot take Luca seriously acting like a serious businessman with his glasses. The talk about how he is not happy, how he barely has favorite places, favorite films etc. was not helping either. And don't even get me started about his response when it comes to his favorite color. By the way, Götz Otto is in this film. It's sad that Vogller has to stoop this low, but also the same applies for Otto. I mean he played in Bond a little over a decade earlier. And all his character does in this film here is smile condescendingly when his friend and flatmate tell him that she will not get together with Luca's character. Pathetic stuff. This is by the way the same exact thing that the other flatmate does and the latter is played by Anian Zollner. He is the writer I mentioned early on. Truly shocking that even when he was playing the part he did not recognize how bad and pointless his character was. And also all the other characters really. Zero vision on him it seems to me. These two friends also result in another cringeworthy moment relatively early when we have both protagonists being asked at the same time really randomly what the other was like in a way that it is implied there will be feelings between them. Oh yeah, I think I already said a certain moment was the film at its very worst, but the entire martial arts scene was another moment where this one hit rock bottom. Don't even get me started about Luca's character's reaction when his buddy says something like he is surprised that Luca's character is into somebody like her. The way how he tries to move forard with the sport was hilarious in the most embarrassing manner. Finally, the ending is of course another last-minute turn for the positive when he arrives just in time to keep her from signing the contract that will make her lose the company. More pseudo drama. As if this film did not have enough already. Then they go back to romance and show us how she warms up to him again as they are joking around about a little message in Asian letters. They really waste no second here. Complete failure until the closing credits roll in. Everybody who agreed to be a part of this film should be deeply ashamed, not just the director, writers and actors, but also those in charge of other production areas like the truly bad soundtrack that constantly goes over the top (especially during that scene when the other woman catches the two) tries so hard to convince us this film has any right to take itself seriously. The only reason I don't give it one star is that I never rate below two. But let me tell you: This is a movie you want to skip at any cost, even if it was the last film on Earth. Highly, highly not recommended. It is as much of an abomination as the title implies.
