Uncomfortable to watch as was probably intended

Watched this movie knowing nothing about it and found it to be a compelling watch. Not a fast paced movie by any means, but the story and investment in the principal actors struggles kept it moving pretty well.

It was a well written script with good performances from young actors I have never heard of before.

I think it was intended to depict the misery of addiction and in that it succeeded.

For an obviously low budget movie, it looked and sounded good, nice job to those involved.

With so many films relying heavily on VFX that are fairly devoid of story, this was an interesting enough story that it was somewhat refreshing to watch.

Requiem for an indie film

Maxie is a great film. Period. The fact that it was made on a budget that's less than the craft services budget of most studio films is amazing!

Those teen "druggies" you see on the street? You will come away with a better sense of who they are and what they go through after seeing this. The film really allows you to feel their struggle and see the world through their eyes.

Great directing, solid cinematography, and really good acting from kids who've never been in a feature film. I really enjoyed the soundtrack as well.

Plus the ending was terrific! It gives you a tablespoon of hope alongside a grim reality.
