Curiously, in the countdown Michael Jackson is not featured, despite he performed all the songs for Moonwalker (1988) as "Speed Demon" and "Smooth Criminal", between others.
Prince is featured six times in the countdown: four with The Revolution for the original soundtrack of Purple Rain (1984), one also with The Revolution for Under the Cherry Moon (1986) and one as solo artist for Batman (1989).
Jennifer Warnes is featured twice in the countdown. In both times she makes a duet for two great romantic drama movies: with Joe Cocker for An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) and with Bill Medley for Dirty Dancing (1987). The two times she won an Academy Award as Best Original Song.
In the countdown are featured two songs partially out of the 80s but related with it: The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" belongs to the soundtrack of Benny & Joon (1993), but the song belongs to the 1988 album "Sunshine on Leith" (it was not used as soundtrack in a previous movie). And Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" is featured on Stand by Me (1986), but it belongs to the 1961 album "Don't Play That Song!" King recorded newly the song and filmed a music video singing to the audience, with River Phoenix and Wil Wheaton watching him as part of it and later making him chorus. Phoenix and Wheaton were two of the main stars of the movie.
Madonna is featured in the countdown with four songs for four different movies: "Crazy for You" for Vision Quest (1985), "Into the Groove" for Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), "Live to Tell" for At Close Range (1986) and "Who's That Girl" for Who's That Girl (1987).
