Un-sponsored public service show broadcast by Chicago television station WNBQ on Sunday afternoons from 6:00-6:30 pm.
"Lincoln Park Zoo" was the forerunner of "Zoo Parade" which was broadcast from 1950 to 1957 and featured animals from the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. "Zoo Parade" was broadcast nationally on Sunday afternoons on NBC. Just as with "Lincoln Park Zoo", the program's host was Marlin Perkins, the Zoo's director and featured zoologist Jim Hurlbut. Marlin Perkins went on to become the iconic host of the program " Wild Kingdom", famously sponsored by Mutual of Omaha insurance company.
