- Old wives' tales, hearsay, and country fables are woven into this harrowing tale from authentic Mississippi rural folklore. Some curses trap the mind. Deep in Mississippi's cryptic piney woods, god-fearing Mary Anne must seek dark supernatural counsel to save her sister.
- The aim of this film is to preserve, document, and share a regional story-telling tradition, one that is familiar only to those who grew in the thick of Mississippi's pines. When faced with a family crisis does one cling only to faith or consider the paranormal? The reactions and outcomes to such a dilemma are based on Mississippi African American folklore, the paranormal, and rural pious female character study in this film. The story is one of sisterhood. Mary Anne, ever trying to spread the good news of the gospel, invites her pregnant sister Lisa Mae and coworker Chrissy to a revival at a small rural church. It just so happens this church lies deep in the woods of what local folks call "the Prair'," a frightening place where tales of horror abound. Although she's not a local, Chrissy is familiar with the area, having visited a psychic who lives down the road from the church, colloquially called the two-headed woman. Lisa Mae becomes increasingly curious to go to the two-headed woman to inquire about suspicions of her cheating husband. Against Mary Anne's wishes, the three women make their way down the road to the house of this mysterious woman. After her visit to the two-headed woman, Lisa Mae, complains of dizzy spells, becomes withdrawn, and is terrorized by a dark presence around her house. Concerned for Lisa Mae's physical and mental health, and the unborn child, Mary Ann attempts to rely on faith to save her sister. When prayers go unanswered, Mary Anne reluctantly goes to the two-headed woman. The two-headed woman tells Mary Anne that her sister's mind is entrapped by a curse. Mary Ann is left with the decision to rely on faith or fight back at the behest of the two-headed woman to save her sister.
