Lifetime has picked up "Sherri," the comedy pilot starring Sherri Shepherd, to series with a 12-episode order.
"The View" co-host is expected to announce the pickup on the ABC talk show Tuesday morning. She will continue her duties on "View" while starring on the Lifetime series.
The sitcom, loosely based on Shepherd's experiences, centers on a woman who contends with her husband's infidelity when she allows her husband's girlfriend and their illegitimate child to move in with them.
Comedy veteran Terri Minsky has come on board as an executive producer/showrunner of the series, which is also exec produced by Nina Wass and Gene Stein.
Dave Flebotte, who penned the show, originally developed it for the CW and executive produced the pilot, will be a consultant. Shepherd will serve as a co-exec producer.

The long-delayed sixth season of "Project Runway" will premiere Aug. 20 on its new network, Lifetime.
The announcement was made at Lifetime's upfront presentation Tuesday in New York, where the cable network also unveiled a development slate that includes drama series based on the movies "Mona Lisa Smile" and "Mystic Pizza," an original movie exec produced by country star Garth Brooks and the J.D. Roth reality show "Deadbeat Dads."
"While 'Project Runway' might be 'fashionably' late in getting to Lifetime, some things in life are worth waiting for," Lifetime Networks president and CEO Andrea Wong said.
"Runway" originally was slated to make its Lifetime debut in November, but that was put on hold because of litigation between NBC Universal and the show's producer, the Weinstein Co. A lawsuit was settled this month, with the series' former home Bravo allowed to launch its "Runway" replacement "The Fashion Show" in May, three months ahead of "Runway's" return.
