"Thanksgivin', die nachtblaue Stadt" is one of the very few Austrian independent movies. The director Michael Pfeifenberger, and Writer and Producer Stephan Demmelbauer have worked together since 1997. In 1998 they created a short movie, "That's all Johnny!", and in 1999 followed it with "Alles werden gut!". Both movies where shown in Saarbrücken, at the Max Ophüls price. Marianne Sägebrecht liked the movies, so Stephan Demmelbauer had the idea, to integrate the short films into a long one. In 2000 "Thanksgivin', die nachtblaue Stadt" was completed. In October 2001 it was shown in several Austrian Cinemas.
