18,000 feet of 35mm color film stock was lensed over a period of five days, July 13 - 17, 1981. After seven months of planning, Bob Wilson Jr. longtime editor of "Audience" publication magazine wrote and directed this his first film assembling a cast of five, and a crew of 20. Described as a "fantasy film," "Passing Through" was lensed entirely on location near Van Nuys Airport with DP Phil Gries averaging 22 set ups a day.
After months of post production the completed 18-minute film "Passing Through" was screened for Academy submission in December 1981 at Westland Laemmle Theater in conjunction with "My Dinner With Andre."
