Best Episode So far...

I almost Give Up on Season 2. But I'm glad to give this series another try. Nothing fresh in this episode, but it's better than the last Two Seasons. I hope the girls & Harry can find the cure soon.

Outstanding episode

Warning: Spoilers
In the tradition of the past two seasons, the start of this new chapter retconned/handwaved the Big Bad of the previous one in the first few episodes. But I hope that this time it sticks, and as it is the third season I hope that it will aptly be the charm. Seasons one and two had their strengths and weaknesses but while enjoyable, still felt like the writers were trying to find their footing. The dour color palette they instilled in the sophomore season to try and make the show more adult, together with the switch to a much more toned down wardrobe were honestly a big downer, so I'm glad to see that we're back to something a bit more vivacious.

This episode the special effects looked absolutely incredible, as they did in the shot of Abby's mysterious demon form in the coda of the preceding episode. There was a tight sense of tension and interesting new mysteries being set up, and wether intentional or not, the social distancing analogy with the witches and their white lighter being unable to touch each other was pretty impactful.

This episode got me back to the excitement of the first season, and it's fun to have that weekly sense of anticipation back again.

This is the turning point in Charmed
devinsweeneyis23 February 2021
Everything leading up to this episode had been a build up to what is to become for this franchise. The time of real action, love, and disparity has begun. This is the stepping stone, this is the chapter that starts it all. This season is about to become the best one yet leading towards the highly anticipated 4th season. Keep an eye on this show folks, it's about to become bigger than expected.

Worst Episode So Far
memeseamore26 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was just a straight up disjointed mess. It's just directionless pandering. I don't mind of when shows talks about inequalities. I actually like when shows manage to work such important topics into the plot. But this is just too forceful and so out of place out of nowhere. On one half the episode makes you wonder what is this magical force that is keeping them apart, and the strange monster. Then randomly "hey, let's talk about sexism and transphobia." No effort was made to try and blend it into the plot, it just felt like they wrote these topics in first and added the magic stuff as an afterthought. And it's not as if they hadn't done it well before. When they were introducing Abigail she talked about how she was trying to destroy the patriarchy in the demon society, which is something I could totally believe existing in the demon world if it existed. As for Macy, she was insufferable this episode. I truly don't care about Macy and Harry's relationship, and it took up all the good scenes that were about researching this magical force keeping them apart. But most importantly, they have no chemistry and their characters don't mesh well as a love interest. She fit so much better with the previous guy. Her character this whole episode just boils down to wanting to gey laid. This episode just felt like pure filler. It could've not existed and it probably wouldn't make any difference. This episode could've stayed in the drafts.

I concur...

Warning: Spoilers
The last reviewer summed up perfectly what's wrong with this episode, and the series in general. The activists speech can't make up for the lack of logic and structure. The monster appeared out of nowhere. When the girls are possessed in public, it has ZERO impact on their social lives afterwards. Like everyone would expect Maggie to be a rude banshee in class. And get away with it, with her ridiculous book nobody heard of. And nobody cares for either. But the worst thing about the episode, was when Melanie forced a whole class to study a book, because of ONE student. I am disgusted with the messages in this show. Like bullying people into thinking the « right way » isn't wrong... All this episode proved to me, was that woke culture is just a more insidious and dangerous new form of fascism. Macy still is my favorite though, for being the only character involved in storylines that has the season plot moving. Not just the writers/network's political agendas.
