- Sir James Lester: What the hell has got into Cutter?
- Abby Maitland: That's not him.
- Connor Temple: There's two of him.
- Sir James Lester: Two versions of Cutter. Sounds like some sort of nightmare.
- Nick Cutter: You still don't get it, do you? That no matter how many times you interfere, you still can't get the result you want because evolution can't be bent to your will.
- Helen Cutter: I really hope you're wrong.
- Helen Cutter: I'm sorry, Nick, I can't let you go!
- [pulls out gun]
- Nick Cutter: What the hell are you talking about...?
- [sees Helen's gun]
- Helen Cutter: You see, nothing's changed, Nick! The future is still more important than either of us!
- Nick Cutter: For God's sake, you really know how to pick your moments, don't you?
- Helen Cutter: If you'd seen what I have, you'd understand! I'm sorry, Nick... I wish there was another way.
- Nick Cutter: You know what, Helen? You're not as smart as I thought you were.
- [brief pause, then Helen shoots Nick]
- Mick Harper: I'm this close, Katherine. I just need something that nobody could fake.
- Katherine Kavanagh: I can't run a worldwide media story based on pure speculation.
- Mick Harper: You do it all the time!
- Katherine Kavanagh: The mammoth on the M25 didn't come to much. We can say what we like about footballers and politicians. It's nearly always true.
- Melanie: It went through a hole in the wall there.
- Connor Temple: What did?
- Melanie: I don't know. A ratty, chipmunk, beaver kind of thing.
- Connor Temple: Well, that narrows it down.
- [Takes out his phone]
- Connor Temple: Cutter. We might have a problem. A ratty, chipmunk...
- Melanie: Beaver.
- Connor Temple: ...Beaver kind of problem.
- Jenny Lewis: [Shows her a picture of Mick] Sarah, if you see this man within a mile of the ARC, you've got to let me know.
- Sarah Page: Why?
- Jenny Lewis: He thinks he knows something.
- Sarah Page: And does he?
- Jenny Lewis: Rather a lot, unfortunately.
- Nick Cutter: [about Abby] This woman is a trained health professional.
- Melanie: She doesn't look like a nurse.
- Nick Cutter: No. she's not, she's a zookeeper.
- Melanie: WHAT?
- Nick Cutter: Abby, how many babies have you delivered?
- Abby Maitland: Dozens.
- Melanie: [Hysterical] What kinds of babies?
- Abby Maitland: Zebras, lions, antelopes. I delivered a giraffe once.
- Nick Cutter: See? Now, don't worry. The principle is exactly the same, only hopefully your baby will have a shorter neck.
- Melanie: [Diictodon are scampering about] What's going on?
- Nick Cutter: Don't worry, it's just the drugs
- Melanie: I haven't had any drugs!
- Sir James Lester: What are you doing here?
- Nick Cutter: [Clone] I work here.
- Sir James Lester: Yes, but what are you doing here now?
- Nick Cutter: I work here.
- Sir James Lester: Are you feeling all right?
- Nick Cutter: Yes,
- Sir James Lester: You don't seem quite yourself.
- Nick Cutter: I'm Professor Nick Cutter.
- Sir James Lester: Strangely enough, I hadn't actually forgotten that.
- Sarah Page: [Comes up to them] Cutter. You're back. Great. I've verified another date, so I need you to check it before I add it to the model.
- Nick Cutter: Yes
- [leaves with her]
- Sir James Lester: Memo to self. Arrange regular mental health check-ups for all staff.
- Sir James Lester: Have you noticed anything strange about Cutter recently?
- Jenny Lewis: How long have you got?
- Sir James Lester: Stranger than normal, I mean.
