There's' a brain alright.. but kind of flashy brain and mock sicence

Warning: Spoilers
Yet another crime/mystery Japanese series. And it's got all money shot in this one. The facility the computer equipment, holograms .. and not to mention the top rated star in the role of the professor.

I can't remember the cases now (saying something), but recollect that they are not bad. And there's one near the end that is well choreographed using the large set but simple "perception" resolution.

Compared to a more recent show call "Lady" - where each case involves mind twisted psychopaths, this is less demonic and has more variety. Compare to "Control" (same year as Lady), control has more..hehmmmmm contorl - it is more understated (espeically the ending), while more pedestrian in a sense - not flashy. So this Mr. Brain for me it's not mediocre, but yet not great. For me, greatest one I've seen is Gonzo - my all time favourite in the crime/mystery genre. Unlike Galeleo which started exceptionally but ended badly, Mr Brain gets marks for consistency. Albeit consistent mediocrit.

Albeit the version I saw has crystal clear HD and that does add to the appeal - somewhat. The love interest ironically also serves as comedic relief - this part I'm not figuring out the need.

Another gem from Kimutaku! A must watch!

Warning: Spoilers
Can't get enough of Kimura Takuya. He looks so handsome with that hairstyle. He plays an eccentric brain scientist who uses unusual ways to solve cases. Each case he solves is fun to watch.

A lot money is pumped into this drama. We can see good analytic tools and scientific equipment used in this drama which is set in 2009. I just wished it had more episodes. Hope they come up with another series.

There are lot of guest appearances because of the various cases that come one after the other. Ayase Haruka plays the role of his assistant. There isn't must focus on her. This drama provides wholesome entertainment. For all kimutaku fans this drama is a must watch.

One of the best Japanese shows according to google? Really?

Warning: Spoilers
It was an unbearable show to watch. Main guy wasn't likeable, he was a toughtless and an annoying person. I tought it will get better by each episode but no, main guy wasn't smart at all he was somehow cunning but not in a brilliant way either, criminals on the other hand were just stupid. They always confess, they never use their brains and stupidly and conveniently get caught in the end. Yeah it's fiction but let's not throw away all logic to the wind for the sake of story. When a show claims it has brilliant characters it should've been careful about convenient situations just for wishful thinking and shown smarts elsewhere.
