Interesting look at Back to The Future and the DeLorean car.

Expedition: Back to the Future - I really like the premise of the show because it still uses the premise of Back to the Future while making its own, more realistic spin on it. I like how they get a lot of the people who helped make the show involved. I can really appreciate how much effort went into this show. In Episode 4 they play Back in Time by Huey Lewis & The News, which for obvious reasons, is awesome.

Episode 1: Josh's Adventure of a Lifetime - 9/10 Episode 2: DeLorean Debacle - 7/10 Episode 3: Almost Outta Time - 8/10 Episode 4: Great Josh - 8/10.

Missed Easter Egg
jasongoodhead12 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Fans of the franchise will love the details about the props, script and actor changes throughout the development of the first film.

It was interesting to learn that there was more than one original delorean created throughout the 3 films.

It was nice to see the fan base it created that spans the globe, which demonstrated the influence that American pop culture has around the world, such as Spain, Germany and Scotland.

But the series wraps up with listing the Easter eggs that were randomly and inconspicuously included throughout the 4 episodes, but neglected to reveal the hand written schematic of the flux capacitor that Doc shows Marty in the barn was among the records at the delorean headquarters. Considering how important the prop is, it was odd that it was left out.

For the Back To The Future Fans
LLgoatJ12 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is supposed to be about a guy teaming up with Christopher Lloyd to track down a Back To The Future DeLorean to auction off for Michael J Fox's charity. It really though is more about Back To The Future and DeLoreans.

How much of it is real and how much is scripted I do not know. It really is like one of those "reality" shows where you know its all scripted and nothing is real. That would probably put the casual viewer off.

However as a Back To The Future fan I watched it all with a smile on my face. It tells you a lot about making the films, the production and about how they made the Time Machine. Plus it shows you a lot of the props used in the film, not just the car. It also tells you about the DeLorean cars. All in an entertaining way.

Plus there are cameo appearances from different people in unexpected ways, repeating their lines in some way from the film. Such as Strickland being the security guard at the film studio. There are tons of easter eggs in the background as well.

If you like Back To The Future then this is well worth a watch. If you have never seen the film then I really would avoid. Its not really a serious program but so entertaining. The fact Doc Brown appears at the beginning to start the quest tells you that this is not going to be very reality.

Thoroughly Enjoyable!

This mini-series contains lots of facts and spot-on humor with cast members of BTF and the many people involved in the Delorean time machine as a quest. Well written and thought out. Josh Gates shines in this special. You can tell he is having the time of his life.

A love letter to the films

Really enjoyed this. It captured the love and excitement that fans of the films have. Kinda goosebumpy at times. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm, the comedy, the cameos. Great series.

Just Perfectly made search for all of our childhood's dream car

I am totally biased- I honestly love these movies by heart!

Josh just impersonates the superfan perfectly because he actually loves back to the future just as much as I do.

Christopher Lloyd the ultimate partner on their way through the United States trying to figure out where to find the actual Delorean they are looking for to support the Parkinson research foundation of Michael J Fox (who played Marty McFly in BTTF) On their way they meet the BTTF creator Bob Gale as well as Lea Thompson (who played Marty McFly's mother Lorraine Baines) and I must confess she still has this incredible charme.

Then they meet lots of diehard fans and collectors until. Find out for yourself- Just awesome I totally love this!

Could have been so much better!

The format is bad. The hosts fake acting scenes with Christopher Lloyd are cringy. Should have made it a documentary, stuck to the stories of people who worked on the movie and lost the host!

Informative, but stupid
neilfield-2107315 June 2021
Why this could not have been made as a normal "got to get this built" programme, I do not know. Unnecessarily long-winded and badly acted (Mr Gates).
