Now I know.

I always remembered the Ultimate Warrior from my teenage years. And since then I've seen many documentaries about all these wrestlers. From the story of André the Giant, to all the tragic stories from Vice's "Dark Side of the Ring". After seasons 1 and 2 of the ladder, I couldn't help but wonder "what about the Ultimate Warrior?"

I knew nothing about the man beyond the character, and I think he's the one I was the most curious about, him being so extreme and never showing who he really was. Now I see how some of his actions and those of the WWE created a sort of cloud over his character's legacy. And that's why I, not being among the super fans of wrestling, didn't really know anything about him.

I'm glad I got to find out.

The warrior was a very controversial man. Beloved by fans and family, but had varying degrees of disgust by the wrestlers. Wasn't looking forward to watching this episode as I have heard all the stories about how much of a miserable lunatic a-hole this man was and how his years after wrestling were marred by some distasteful things he said. Every person has their flaws and every person has their story. I do believe that this show did a fantastic job not making it seem that warrior was this infallible man that was loved by all. Warrior was complex and at times difficult to work with, but he was still a person that loved his family, loved to inspire, and wanted to love life and be at peace.

The people at the college were so childish and sensitive about everything I agreed with everything he had to say to them.

Bio look at a fallen warrior.

A&E's current biography series "WWE Legends" is informative as it brings back memories of the rise and fall of wrestling legends as this was so true with Mr. Believe and face paint himself the wild far out Ultimate Warrior. Going back to his broken home shy childhood days of growing up to getting into bodybuilding to leaving for regional wrestling like Continental to World class wrestling in Dallas where Jim became the "Dingo Warrior" with lame face paint, still this is now where he caught the attention of Vice. As now the "WWF" in the mid to late 80's needed some fresh new blood and you guessed it the "Ultimate Warrior" arrived with more paint and style and color with wilder and stronger ring entrances. Shown were his becoming champion then his classic moment of defeating and upsetting Hulk Hogan to become world champion! Then after that it was downhill for the Warrior as it was like he was cursed . As slowly yet surely his attitude, rage, greed, and addiction, all brought him down even the mighty one meet his end way to early. Still this warrior was a rightfully "WWE" Hall of famer as this biography captures his moments both good and bad as for wrestling fans it was a tough emotional painful watch.

Who was in charge of this episode's music?
mpongco19 August 2022
This didn't happen on other episodes but the background music completely drowned out all the interviews and the stories told about Ultimate Warrior. Otherwise this was a fascinating look. Just impossible to not be distracted by the blaring music.
