Jefferson Grieff said in the first episode that anyone can become a murderer, given the right circumstances.
In Britain, Harry the vicar seems like a good person driven to imprison his son's maths tutor Janice Fife. She realises that this will end in her death unless she can manipulate both him and his wife Mary.
The question is who will end up the murderer in order to save their son. Mary might not want to murder Janice but looks like she is prepared to do the deed more than Harry.
Over in the USA, Grieff plays mind games with journalist Beth Davenport (Lydia West) who senses that something is wrong with Janice.
However when push comes to shove, she thinks of her own career. Taking up Grieff's offer to forget about Janice.
However Grieff is suitably intrigued, looking past Beth's selfishness.
Even after the second episode, I find Inside Man to be an odd series. There is also a theme about sacrifice.
Harry deciding to make a noble gesture to take the blame for the child porn after he could not get the verger to confess to downloading it.
It is still unsatisfactory in a sense. Harry knows that the verger's mother knows what his son has been up to. He could had roped her in, even get a forensic expert to examine the verger's computer.
I do like Grieff's Sherlock tribute act so intrigued what he has in store.
