Definitely off but predictable!

Taylor and her baby meet up with a photographer and her daughter who are up to no good when it comes to their relationship when suddenly, Taylor's baby is kidnapped. The music and the acting are not bad for an unknown Canadian cast. Watchable.

Cradle did Fall

A woman poses as an infant photographer to befriend a young mother and steal her baby. The movie is based on a Washington state woman named Juliette Parker, who offered free photography services to new or expecting mothers through a Facebook group for mothers, with the intention of stealing their baby.

It's predictable, the photographer looks so dodgy that the heroine falls for slick lies, the police detective is absolutely useless and disinterested, but it is watchable and does it's job to keep one interested. It's a TV film so the budget is modest and there wouldn't be much write-ups. The acting is good especially by the villainesses.

Not that bad but no good either

First, i find it ridiculous that the mother can be so calm and have time to resr when her baby is lost. If its me, i would be frantic. I also find it crazy and so weird that the police can be as laid back towards the mothers accusations towards the bad ladu... No investigation, nothing... And a death can be ruled as suicide so easily. If you want to make a story into a movie make sure its realistic first.

2021 still making crap movies like this

Oh Kept wanting to punch everyone as they are all so stupid. Dialogue had me turning it off 1/3 of the way in. What is the purpose of creating such horrible movies? Are their grants available? What? Why?

Not a bad dramatization

In the opening scene a caption says: based on a true story. Without giving much away it is loosely based on a true story.

Utterly useless police detective

Warning: Spoilers
I wouldn't have bothered writing a review about this movie, which was mediocre at best, but I once I realised just how utterly useless the police detective was, I just had to. When the best friend, Lindsay, was found dead, the detective just assumed she had committed suicide, but I expect even the most rudimentary forensic examination would have shown that she was strangulated before being strung up. But would the detective listen to Taylor? Oh no, he had already made his mind up.

But there are so many plot holes, anyway. How did Skylar's mother manage to lift a dead body on to some rope on her own to fake the suicide? The victim was not a small woman. The movie shown in the afternoon movie slot was very confusing towards the end, because there were several scenes jumbled together, but that may not have been the director's fault, as this particular TV channel has a habit of censoring murder scenes in its afternoon movies, so the camera will cut from someone wielding a knife or gun to the dead body lying on the floor, with all violent frames removed.

Then there's Lindsay, the naive victim of the fake suicide. Suddenly she started to be suspicious of the woman who turned up at her house purporting to be from the police, but Lindsay remained sitting on the sofa for vital minutes, pondering what to do, instead of running hell for leather for the door. She'd still be alive but for her slow reaction.

This was a very untidy movie from start to finish.

A bit dull
gymnckv12 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Very slow moving, rather predictable film.

Dumb as nails characters, from the isolated new mother inviting strangers into her home while her husband's away. Detectives who were utterly clueless and decidedly uncurious. The best friend was a bright spark, until she was gratuitously & unnecessarily killed off near the end of the film with very little fanfare of mention. Even she was dumb enough to allow a suspicious person into her home and then remain there was she realised it was an imposter. Most folks would've gotten the hell out of there.

The husband was...completely absent. And we're supposed to believe he couldn't get back for 3+ days after his baby was kidnapped? No wonder the main character seemed so dull & depressed. Who wouldn't, being stuck in such a loveless, unsupportive relationship?

The main character had no spark, no personality. It was a very wooden performance and the whole film was a big yawn.
