Jennifer Lawrence said winning the Best Actress Academy Award in 2013 for portraying a troubled young widow, Tiffany Maxwell in the comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook didn’t make her happy for long.

With this award, she became the second-youngest winner in the category at just the age of 22. But for Lawrence, it was more like a quick burst of joy followed by the usual chaos of life.
As she strutted towards the stage to grab her trophy and say her thanks, she pulled off an epic stair-fumble in front of the A-list crowd and those watching on TV. J.Law has confessed that she was sensitive about the incident for a long time.

Pop singer Petula Clark was one of several celebrities who sang backup on John Lennon‘s “Give Peace a Chance.” The “Downtown” singer didn’t completely understand what was going on at the time. Clark also revealed a certain something was missing from the recording session.
John Lennon’s ‘Give Peace a Chance’ was recorded at a famous protest
During a 2019 interview with The Guardian, Clark recalled singing English and French songs at a 1969 concert in Montreal. She was heckled for this choice, as the Quebec nationalist movement was going strong. Afterward, she went to see John for advice regarding the situation. The “Imagine” singer and Yoko Ono were in Montreal protesting the Vietnam War with one of their famous Bed-Ins.
“They were both still in their nighties,” Clark recalled. “I sat there, dripping water all over their bed, and told them the story. He said: ‘Oh, f*** ’em.’ I said: ‘Thank you,...

One of the most memorable and heartfelt ways to tell someone you're falling in love with them is through a cute love song. Even if you're not into writing your own tune, sharing a Spotify playlist full of songs about soulmates, songs about love at first sight, and songs about saying, "I love you," is a sweet and low-pressure way to get your feelings across. And thankfully, there is a wealth of songs about falling in love out there - across all genres - to show someone just how much you care for them.
The best love song, however, is the tune that resonates the most with you and your partner. So whether you prefer a slow, romantic ballad, a sexy song, or a song that's more upbeat, your love interest is certain to be falling just as hard for you after giving it a listen.

The filmmaking trio known as Rkss has previously brought us the films Turbo Kid and Summer of 84. Their latest is the slasher Wake Up, which had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas yesterday – and we not only have some reactions to the film that came out of that screening, we also have a clip from the film, courtesy of Deadline! You can watch the clip in the embed at the bottom of this article.
Written by Alberto Marini and based on an original idea by Martin Soudan, Wake Up centers on a group of hot-headed Gen Z activists who find themselves brutally hunted after they become trapped in a furniture superstore during an act of environmental protest gone wrong.

Paul McCartney was saddened when John Lennon compared him to another popular singer. However, the comparison doesn’t work at all. Notably, this comparison came from John’s era of edgy trash-talking.
Paul McCartney hated John Lennon comparing him to Engelbert Humperdinck
In the 1970s, John was as known for his digs as he was for his music. For example, in the 1971 book Lennon Remembers, John criticizes all the other Beatles, Elvis Presley, Mick Jagger, Orson Welles, Frank Zappa, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, and so many others.
During a 1974 interview with Rolling Stone, Paul said he didn’t like everything John did, however, he kept his mouth shut. “I mean, he came out with all stuff like I’m like Engelbert Humperdinck,” Paul recalled. “I know he doesn’t really think that.”
Paul was asked what he thought about John’s comments. “Oh, I hated it,” he recalled. “You can imagine,...

There is female empowerment in Korean cinemas, but it is coming more from local characters, than global hit “Barbie.”
Female-led crime action film “Smugglers” dominated the weekend at the South Korean box office and pushed aside “Mission: impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” which had headed the chart for the previous two sessions.

Paul McCartney was helpless as he watched The Beatles fall apart despite his best efforts to stop the breakup. The unofficial songwriting competition between Paul and John Lennon stressed the band to the breaking point. Yet Macca couldn’t keep himself from forming a new band, and it might have saved his life. McCartney’s Wings bandmate Henry McCullough pulled a knife and drove away a person who said he wanted to kill Paul.
Paul McCartney’s Wings bandmate Henry McCullough confronted Paul’s potential murderer with a knife

Paul McCartney developed a knack for finding inspiration for his songs in front of him. It wasn’t always that easy. One musician called McCartney and John Lennon idiots as songwriters in the early 1960s. The dynamic duo teamed up to prove him wrong before their partnership ended. In the late 1960s, McCartney snuck in a reference to his wife, Linda McCartney, in a sad Beatles song that also lamented the business affairs that made the band’s split an ugly one.
Paul McCartney referenced the carefree side of his life with Linda McCartney in ‘You Never Give Me Your Money’
Despite the bitterness surrounding the band in late 1969, The Beatles managed to crank out a gem of an album with Abbey Road. It was the last record they made together.
“You Never Give Me Your Money,” the song that kicked off the Side 2 medley, expressly mentioned the messy business dealings.

Margot Robbie, America Ferrera and director Greta Gerwig visited South Korea early on the promotional tour for ‘Barbie’ (without Ryan Gosling). But their charm failed to translate into strong box office performance in the country and the film opened anonymously in fourth place over the weekend.
“Barbie” earned just $1.19 million between Friday and Sunday and $1.91 million over its opening five days, according to data from Kobis, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council (Kofic). Worth just 8% of the nationwide weekend total, “Barbie’s” scores were barely better than fellow new release title “Insidious: the Red Door.” That earned $1.17 million between Friday and Sunday and $1.90 million over five days.
Indeed, the weekend’s highest opener, landing in third ahead of “Barbie” and “Insidious,” was Japanese animation title “Detective Conan the Movie: Black Iron Submarine.” Releasing on Thursday, it earned $1.80 million over the weekend and $2.66 million over its opening four days.

De La Ghetto has been a towering figure in the Latin music industry. The Puerto Rican artist, known for making major reggaeton hits, has always swerved between genres, adding in dashes of rap and R&b to his smooth sound and staying on top of rising artists before the masses. In fact, he was one of the early supporters of Latin trap and thought about signing Myke Towers when the rapper was just a teenager.

Elton John’s “Daniel” was overshadowed by a slow Paul McCartney song. “Daniel” is a song about a soldier in the Vietnam War. The Wings song in question is one of Paul’s worst love ballads.
Elton John’s “Daniel” has some interesting lyrics. Despite that, it was kept off the top of the charts by a Paul McCartney song. Notably, John’s co-writer Bernie Taupin said “Daniel” was widely misinterpreted by listeners.
Paul McCartney’s boring song ‘My Love’ got in the way of Elton John’s ‘Daniel’
Wings’ “My Love” is far from Paul McCartney’s most impressive song. It’s not even his most impressive piano ballad. It’s a love song that’s so slow and lifeless it feels like a dirge.
According to The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits, “My Love” was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, proving the 1970s...

Paul McCartney‘s “My Love” was one of his biggest hits during his time with Wings. In addition, Petula Clark also had a No. 1 hit called “My Love.” Notably, Clark didn’t enjoy her song at first and her opinion of it never changed.
Paul McCartney’s ‘My Love’ came out after Petula Clark’s hit with the same name
Clark released a hit called “My Love” in 1965. Meanwhile, Paul released a Wings track called “My Love” in 1973. During a 2013 interview with Songfacts, Clark revealed she wasn’t a fan of her hit. “We recorded three songs on that session,” she said. “We recorded them in LA, and I had to leave immediately after the session. I liked the two other songs quite a lot, but I really didn’t like ‘My Love.'”
Clark told Warner Bros. A&r executive Joe Smith she didn’t like “My Love,” but he was unmoved.

There are plenty of fascinating stories behind the song titles for Paul McCartney’s music. They’re often based on his family, his friends, or just something he pulled out of the blues. One song he released with Wings was based on something his daughter would say to him when he was overly affectionate.

Paul McCartney often names songs after the people he loves. There are many songs named after his first wife, Linda, and dozens of other love songs about the women in his life. In an interview with his website, McCartney discussed the track “One More Kiss” from Red Rose Speedway, the second album he made with Wings. The former Beatle said it came from his daughter trying to push him away while he was being affectionate.

Paul McCartney had at least one first after The Beatles broke up. He wasn’t the first to release a true solo album (Ringo Starr beat him to it in March 1970), but he was the first to form a new band. Macca put out two solo records before creating Wings in 1971. The band’s mistakes weren’t private since they had a world-famous songwriter leading the way, but they succeeded nonetheless. Paul wrote or co-wrote all the songs on Wings’ second album, 1973’s Red Rose Speedway, including five that shouldn’t be missed.

The sense of freedom and self-forgiveness in “Everything Else But Rain” is palpable through its production and lyrics.
The single, dropped Wednesday, marks the musical return of Until the Ribbon Breaks after over five years. The Welsh musician, born Pete Lawrie Winfield, optimistically reflects on his growth and how he left behind the darkness he used to associate with his music career.
“During the decade that I was making music, I hadn’t realized the toll it took on me, emotionally and
physically,” he says in a press release. “I...

Paul McCartney’s most influential music came with The Beatles, but he never stopped writing songs. His ex-wife Heather Mills foolishly trolled Paul for working with Rihanna and Kanye West and totally missed the mark. His work beyond The Beatles has been nearly as successful. Let’s look at the five most successful Paul solo songs.
Note: We ranked Paul’s solo songs based on weeks atop the Billboard singles chart, not total weeks on the chart. Wings’ songs appear as Macca was the primary songwriter on those hits.

Macca’s 1982 collaboration with Stevie Wonder got banned in South Africa but became a rousing success in the United States. The tune spent seven weeks at No. 1 during its 19-week stay on the singles chart.

Many of McCartney’s best love songs include “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “Eight Days a Week,” and “Michelle.” In an interview with Billboard, the former Beatle said he is aware of the criticism he’s received for the number of love songs he writes.
