The wreckage seen in the background when Boba Fett constructs his Gaffi stick is based on the Tusken Raider painting made by Ralph McQuarrie in December 1975.
Boba Fett fights the Nikto Swoop Gang at Tosche Station, a location mentioned in the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and featured in a deleted subplot in which Luke meets up with his old friend Biggs before his uncle buys C-3PO and R2-D2. The two humans being harassed by the Niktos are Camie Marstrap and Laze "Fixer" Loneozner, two of Luke's childhood friends, who were originally played by Anthony Forrest and Koo Stark, respectively. Their footage can be seen in the "deleted scenes" of some issuances of A New Hope.
The attack on an armored train by local tribesmen is an allusion to Lawrence of Arabia (1962). This is clearly referenced in one of the concept paintings in the final credits, in which the attacking Tusken Raiders are clothed in white, much like Lawrence himself.
Before leaving, the male Hutt utters the word "Murishani", which means "Bounty Hunter" in Huttese. This was first said by Greedo in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and was one of Zam Wesell's last words in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002).
Members of the Pyke Syndicate first appeared in Eminence (2013) and made their live action debut mining Spice on Kessel in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018). This chapter shows them unmasked for the first time in live action.
