Poor Little Fool... And I was sad to not see her anymore after this, I was hoping she would show up from time to time. Well, with 14 Episodes left, who knows what will happen.
Nina Sharp sends Olivia to a man who helped her when she had trouble with her robotic arm. Sam Weiss is not what Olivia, or we, expected. In very much the same way Yoda was not what Mark Hammill expected in a Jedi Warrior.
Peter was successful in getting all kinds of funding for Fringe Division - All except the C-130 Transport Plane Peter wanted. And so he takes it on himself to have Fringe Division investigate a series of odd disappearances in Lansdale, Pennsylvania-One of which we saw occur in the Teaser.
Walter finds the air Auspicious and "Pregnant with Possibilities"- And also finds ways of irritating the CSI's who are on site from several surrounding counties. But once they finish, Walter is happy to find some Blue Muck that immediately holds his interest. But the goop paralyzes his hand.
Olivia has not the talent for getting Sheriff "Golightly" (Charles Martin Smith) to be helpful - But Peter knows the exact Fishing phrases to use in order to get on the guy's good side. Next thing we see is Olivia and Peter leaving with boxes full of the Reports that Golightly was initially unwilling for the FBI to just come in and appropriate.
This leads them to a very strange man who is digging holes on his property, played by John Savage (whose first movie was the film version of "Hair"). Olivia thinks she hears someone else in the house, she has Peter distract the guy while she follows the noises. But Peter coming into the room startles her and she fires her weapon. A makeshift laboratory in the house gives them enough to bring the guy in for questioning.
But Broyles has Olivia checked out due so the Gun going off, and sends Agent Jessup (Meghan Markle) back to the house in her place.
This was why I was hoping to see more of Jessup in S2, but this was her last appearance with Fringe Division.
From this moment on, the case becomes an actual Pattern case. John Savage is less of a "hick" than he let on, he was a Doctor. But also unfortunately dead, as nobody bothered to watch him while he was in custody, he kills himself in the holding cell.
Because he had found a way to get his Lupus-Ridden wife to bear a Child - A Child who Savage said had died, but had somehow found a way of digging itself out of a coffin.
A "Child" that had been living underneath Savage's house.
In direct Homage to the "Fluke-Man" Episode of "The X-Files," we have the "Fringe Mole-Man." If there were a fight between the two, which one would win?
Just like "The Host" was X-Files, Season 2, Episode 2, this is Fringe, Season 2, Episode 2. Making this indeed a Homage Episode.
Olivia is reassembling after on ordeal she can't remember, Peter and Broyles had just fought to keep The X-File... Er, Fringe Division open. Many Parallels here.
But the best part is the way Peter gets Walter to finally, after all of these years, go Fishing with him, using a remarkable Lure.
