Looked At A Black And White Copy
boblipton26 June 2021
Two clowns, a man and a woman, share some wine in this short subject.

It's most noteworthy for being in Kinemacolour, probably the first color movie film technique to enjoy some success. Unfortunately, I looked at a black and white copy, and the only remnant of the experimental process is some flickering in the film.

The producer and director was George A. Smith, the man who laid the basis for modern film grammar. He extended this interest in how to make films -- rather than simply making films -- into Kinemacolour, memory of which was largely swept away by the far more successful Technicolor process.o.
